Yeah Russ we were 6th in teams. I finished 6th in drivers and Chris 7th in Co-drivers.

Basically we made too many mistakes at the start as we were trying to do everything at 10/10th to make up for the lack of power we had. But, if we'd kept our noses clean we'd have been VERY close to the pointy end. I think in the end we made 9 mistakes in 58 events which is about 8 more than you can afford to make.

Whilst there is a lot of cones I really like the cone stuff. There is no better looking car to be handbraked around cones than a GT-R and we still get some damn good results in the tight events. And really most of the cone events are still quite fast.

Looking forwards to next year already. I reckon in my car we'd have come close this year as we'd have been able to play a little safer in the area's we made mistakes on and made up points with the extra HP in the speed events.

Cool. I was pretty happy with my first run, it was hell slow but as soon as the thing went sideways around the first cone I knew I was going to be painfully slow so just had some fun

My tyres didnt end up in near as bad a condition as yours though...i hope to get at least Calder out of them, but i doubt they are much good to anyone other then for some skids :P

good job snowy! must have shit ya knowing the power of your machine!

and roy i know what ya mean the rally can become quite expensive

repairs, tyres, fuel, brakes, time and lack of sleep!!

how was the z tune???

Hey Datsun's are cool. But I know what you mean Roy, 300k is a bit much for a nissan.

Thanks to all the SAU peeps who came down and supported us. Was great to see so many faces and then try to put on a show for you all.

That last motorkhana was cool. (above video) As soon as I finished I just wanted to go right back to the start and do it again.

Highlight for me was taking out first in four events. Was a little unexpected, but I guess all the pushing 10/10ths in the first two days at least got us something respectful.

They are great, i want a 1200 Coupe :)

But, id rather your R33 and say a porn TVR rather then a Z-Tune :)

I had a 1200 coupe before the GTR. I've owned a few over the years actually. This one ended up with a very strong Stewart Wilkins 1995cc L18, and weighed 851kg with 1/2 tank. I'll build another 1200 one day, with a turbo 1200cc engne (I've experimented with a couple of turbo A12/A14 engines already) for IPRA U2L...

    • You're probably right about that one. Thanks for your suggestions, I hope I don't need a new 3rd brake light. Although wiring issues might arguably be worse. Right now I'm in the midst of a turbo removal because of my oil leak, other problems are going to have to wait for now.
    • Hell, I know that much. So far I just put it off as "part of the deal".
    • I removed the head expecting to find broken and bent valves, but instead found number 1 at TDC and cylinder 2 at the top of its cylinder stroke as well, thought that was weird and proceeded to push cylinder 2 back down until it either bottomed out on its other piston half or the conrod either way we found the issue kind of,  now to remove the engine and see how the block looks, hopefully its just the top off a piston.
    • A little more work this week.  Fitted astra power steering pump in the boot with a lowe fabrication bracket. Gave the pump a good clean, fitted Anderson plug and high pressure fitting. With the intercooler being flipped under rad support factory headlights weren't going to work. Ordered a set of origin battle lights, they arrived so got them test fitted. Will require some fiddling to fit nice but was an easy quick option for now. And today we pulled out the manual Rb gearbox and test fitted a ZF 8HP50. It will fit with some casting tabs cut off and small tap of the tunnel with a hammer. Pick up the adapter plate Wednesday so hopefully all bolted in Friday and measure for tailshaft which will be a 2 piece. Been doing a lot of ecu, pdm and tcu loom design so when comes to wiring it in a few weeks will all go smoothly.
