Hey man what's up.

Ok that pipe is a test pipe NOT a cat. All it does is fill the gap left by the cat so basically you have a nice straight through system. Just be aware that you most likely won't pass any emission tests (if you have that where you are) so I'd suggest keeping your stock set up or at the very least a good stock cat.

What you need is either liquid exhaust gasket or regular metal exhaust gaskets, do not use silicone, and also hardened bolts and nuts. I'm not sure how it works in Austrailia but here in Canada the higher the number on the bolt, the stronger it is. So just get the strongest bolts you can. Also a couple of jack stands to help support the system untill it's bolted in to place and I'd suggest either a regular air impact or cordless impact gun to secure the bolts.

So that's about it, should'nt take you to long depending on how hard it is to remove your old system.

Good luck with it. :D

Take care.

Thanks for the advise,

Not legal?

uh oh,

do u really need impact gun to tighten the bolts?

can i just use man made muscle gun  to tighten it?

as long as it realy tight is ok?

coz i dun have acces to air gun or impact gun.

gona get it fit this weekend, just gona need so bolts and gasket.

thanks heaps for the advices man,

cheers,

darrien

As for the test pipe not being legal, well I don't know all your laws with regards to cat's being on cars or emissions rules either. I do know here test pipe's are not allowed and with no cat, there's no way in hell a car would pass the etest.

Well you don't "have" to have an impact gun but it's the best. If you do wrench them down yourself just get it as tight as possible so you don't have any exhaust leaks. Impact guns just ensure that won't be an issue, that's all.

Other then that, ya your good to go mate.

Let me know how it all works out.

Cheers B)

Thanks sidewazegtst,

I will give it a shot,

but yea, ofcoz i will have a CAT, the exhaust i got is from CAT back, for now, am retaining my stock CAT but later i will have a High flow 1.

hope its all go fine,

*finger cross*

cheers,

That's other lump is just a resonator.. meant to quiet things down a bit. I think the catback there in the photo is setup for a cat at the end...I think it is - really depends on the length.

You will need 2x 3" exhaust gaskets (get from exhaust shop).. You'll need the other for when you replace the factory cat (which is only 2 1/4" -- a restriction)

You may not require gasket goop to get a good seal (although its probably an ok idea). You will also need 4x M8 x ~50mm high tensile bolts to secure it to the Cat.. Get them from Repco, Bunnings, etc. They are a brass colour.

You don't need a rattle gun. Just a good 1/2" socket and shifter, and a spanner on the other end to hold the nut.

I fitted my fuel exhaust system myself. Takes an hour or two. Probably less if you have a friend to prop it up for you.

Exhaust fitted, nice and fitted great, simple job

Thanks for all ur helps guys.

very easy, i spray a bit of WD 40 and wait for 20 mins

after that, the bolts are easy.

took me 60 mins to drive around geting bolts and gasket,

and 45 mins to remove the old system and put in the 3 inc .

Cheers.

    • Yes...but look at the numbers. There is a tiny tiny fraction of the number of Joules available, compared to what is used/needed. Just because things are "possible" doesn't make them meaningful.
    • Thanks for taking the time to post that ! If anything changes or happens please do update us.
    • Somehow Vertimass/Oak Ridge National Labs has figured out a catalyst that can convert ethanol into C9-C10 hydrocarbons in basically a single step without ending up with a bunch of ethylene or similar waste products: https://patents.google.com/patent/WO2023224867A1/en I still don't think anything like this will keep us from needing to transition to EVs regardless along with all kinds of other electrification, but things like this will go a long way towards alleviating the problem of how to electrify things like planes. Renewable diesel is seemingly an easier problem as well, Chevron is already running refineries for the stuff and the primary feedstock is tallow and other waste fats from agriculture.
    • Ok so I have sorted everything with my uniclutch and  i can offer up a bit of feedback and some things that might help others.    I found problems with factory damper line. Weird shit and had trouble with peddle adjustment    I used this https://au.gktech.com/products/r33-gts-t-skyline-braided-clutch-line?_pos=2&_sid=22b01b9b9&_ss=r Also when adjusting peddle leave a bit of play. You can get into a over stroke condition easy.. Make sure you can push the slave forward after adjusting to confirm fluid can return to master then you will need to pump it up heaps…..not sure why but that’s how it is.    last thing the splined adapter is machined perfectly. If your input shaft is old like mine was I would put a bit of valve grinding paste on it and stroke it like a 15 year old. Just to give it a tad more clearance and to better match it to the spline.    reason is on a near flat shift I have had situation where the peddle returns a millisecond after you lift from the clutch. No slip or anything but I reckon this is due to tolerance on the spline being way tighter than stock clutch and binding for a sec. I think this will go away but also my spline was old. Box is old so I guess I should have checked better. It’s a super neat fit.    it feels light as and holds awesome without any noise
