this is on a r32 gtst automatic.

i been thinking about this lately.

Question: can you swap the auto valve body with a manual valve body?

That doesn't make sense to me. Can you explain further what you mean and what you hope to acheive.

You should be able to do that now. Any automatic can be driven like a manual. Simply shift the selector to the gear you want, the transmission will stay there until you select another gear - that's the way I always drive autos.

It's not rocket science.

reving to redline in 1st gear is the problem,if i dont back off it hits the rev limiter. and backing off then getting back on it causes the car to loose all its torque/pull, still holds 10psi but just no pull.

Good advice .

The way I see it you have two options:

1. Manual valve body - I believe Keas have made one for the JATCO RE4R01A; or

2. Upgrade the current valve body & pick up one of MV Automatics' little black unit thingy ($200). The unit disables the ecu from controlling the trans & requires you to manually shift.

With both options you should be able to use an aftermarket computer. Not sure how much power the manual valve body would be able to handle but, MV's (stage II) shift kits is capable of high 200rwkw.
