Haha - he probably was a sales rep - they tend to cane them!

You see the nismo kit for them in the import mag - look pretty special with one of those on without it looks a little too much like an audi TT

u lucky man.. thats all i can say... :) can u get me a job there for me too? :P

so how is it? i remember one of the drivers in best motoring saying the Z has better response feel than the r34 gtr coz its lighter than the R...

standard equipment: heated leather power-operated sports seats!!! :P

MRE: 68 grand? I was just reading the latest Open Road and it says there will be 2 models, the "Touring" and the "Track" (which gets Brembo brakes, bigger wheels and spoilers, and Vehicle Dynamic Control..whatever that is?)

anyway it says prices will be:

Touring manual $59,990 auto $62,790

Track $65,990

Was in Nissan at Nowra yesterday arvo after seeing a silver 'Track' in the driveway and ripping to a halt sideways in the carpark out the front :P

Very VERY tasty looking car. Brembos were gold not red on this one, seats are four way electric on driver side and two way on passenger. The sales rep said they had a day at the creek flogging the guts off of them.

The throw on the 6 speed bos is awesome.

72k on road.

Looks pretty good.. its growing on me a lot - i think its going to be a big seller. STI aren't that quick - and they are so standard looking.. why do people bother!? Good to see a new Nissan getting back up there again.

Who knows, in a couple of years when I want a change from my skyline it might be a good choice, when the price has dropped a bit to maybe 35k or so. Performance mods should be common then too as the japanese are starting to tinker.

The Z is really an awesome machine. I wouldnt go and say it is a light car, in fact considering it is a 2 seater, and has rear wheel drive it is bloody heavy! It only weighs a 100kgs less than an R34 GTR!

The VQ35 is tuned for low end torque and boy can you feel it. It pulls cleanly from 1000rpm and has quite a punch. Above 5500 rpm little happens except noise. The top end is a bit harsh, they could have made it as smooth as it is low down. Being a big cc NA engine it is always ready to pull in any gear you are in. The Version ST and T get the leather heated and electric seats, the others get normal cloth seats which are very good. Interior design is really cool I thought but some of the plastics, especially the ones covering the transmisson tunnel and the boot surrounds are a bit cheap and scratch very easily.

Handling is very good too. Balance is spot on and highspeed stability is rock solid. If you pull an emergency stop from 180km/h the rear has a bit of a tendency to wonder left and right but it is kept under control with the VCD. VCD is too intrusive for fast driving but a godsend on wet roads. I found myself sideways in third gear at 80km/h but it was just so easy to get into line again. It is a really easy car to drive and a real riot to cane around. After all the abuse I gave it, it was as sweet as the day I picked it up. Nothing broke(typical Nissan build) and only the tyre thead was an issue:D

Anyway few snaps:) Notice the plate:D

    • Wives never seem to find things funny. Especially when they're trying to sleep, and you've found the new funniest thing ever. I've never seen someone be able to get try and be cranky with me, while they're holding back fits of laughter... 😛   Also, I tell mine it's payback anyway. She has BiPolar. So the household can get quite emotionally wild at times 😛
    • I'm not up to date on the latest, but for basic modifications like pod filter, lower springs etc you can get a modification permit at the time of inspection.  For more serious modifications you will need engineering.  Intercoolers used to fall into the mod permit rule but its been a long while since i looked it up.   Either way you will be able to get it registered, just a case of $300 vs $3k .
    • Hi everyone! I’m the new owner of a 1996 R33 GTS-T, I’ve purchased this car over from Queensland and brought it to Western Australia and I’ve found that there is a hole cut out in the engine bay for the FMIC that enters into the wheel well (fender liners are in the boot). For anyone that has had to get their car over the PITS here, will this be a major issue?
    • Yeah I've spotted this one too, whenever it's lotto superdraw week and I'm browsing car sales dot com for my new ride They must be dreaming, maybe it's worth 150k for the link to Brock?
    • 100% accurate!  We are a pack of know it alls....  But, I bet people go to you when they have a problem! I've been on a bit of a clean up rampage too over the past month!  I've thrown more shit in the bin over the past 2 weeks than I have in the past 3 years combined! Anyway, it's all good fun being different! My wife sometimes does not agree!
