good on you

if i got sucked into what ivan was trying to get me to do...i would've flipped out

instead i sat here laughing at the fact that he's so much of a die hard mclaren fan, that he doesnt care that his team got beaten by 2 other teams, just that ferrari got beaten....he's a pretty hard core mclaren fan ay

How boring was the Silverstone race? And it was all pumped-up to be a nice three-way battle between Kimi, Michael and Alonso.

Renault are simply unbeatable at the moment. You know Alonso isn't hitting full pace when he's got a 10-12 second lead. He just maintains it. So if Mike or Kimi manage to keep up with him, it won't be for long.

Not that I swing towards any one team - I've been watching F1 for too long to have favorites. But I can tell when one team has it hands down, and that's the case for the moment.

One interesting point however is to think about where Renault was 2-3 years ago (e.g. nowhere). Now look at them- they're unstoppable. Makes you wonder which team will be next to follow suit? You might laugh at some of the backmarker teams now, but you would have been chuckling at Renault some time ago as well.

Interesting to bear in mind...

dezz and ctjet, please cease posting OT. this is getting old. this thread is here to discuss the 2006 F1 season, not whether or not one of you has a better team to support. it's bringing the thread down, so please stop it.

ohh, harsh words azz! I dont know what it is but i just dont like alonso? tall poppy syndrome maybe? it was funny though, 2005 at melbourne and you couldnt find a renault supporter for love or money, 2006 and it was a sea of blue and yellow... mmm everyone does love to be on the winning team!

im really a david coulthard fan!!!

and the best thing that could of happened to him was being dropped by Mclaren.

even though he aint doing the greatest.

its amazing how many people follow the winning team!

i guess thats why so many people follow MS cause if he isnt winning he is dam close.

Ah not me-Ive been Tifosi forever. Always been in the Red army since i was 5yrs old-lol

What has Webber got to do to finish a race??? He must have broken a mirror cause he is in the middle of some serious bad luck

I think Webber will get there and so will Cosworth if they keep there heads down and steer clear of all the internet forums saying he should tell Williams to piss off haha! Like people have said where was Renult 3 years ago, they had reliability issues but had promise, thats what Williams has now, so heres to hoping Webber can get up there casue not being biased I think he is one of the very best drivers in that series, as good as the MS, Alonso's, or Kimi's, started to prove that at Monaco to, damn car!!!

So, i wait to see if Williams have signed a Toyota deal. If so, who is your money on goign to Toyota?

Willit be Wurz or Rosberg farmed out to Toyota? I have a sneaking feeling that Rosberg will end up somewhere else next year. I first thought it would possibly be Renault, but now not so sure, perhaps it will be Toyota.

And if Williams are to give up the Cossie powerplants, i would so love it to be for a Renault engine. Problem is it wont likely happen as Renault will be charging a pretty penny for the customer engine, something Frank wont like. But they have recent history together...but im dreaming.

I still say Rosberg will vacate hsi seat for Wurz :D

please let williams stick with cosworth i really think in the next few years cosworth V8s will be their 'ace in the hole'. buying customer engines off a factory F1 team is a sure fire way to get yourself pegged between 10th and 5th but never any higher.

I agree with Beer Baron, I don't like Alonso either. Maybe for the same reason too (tall poppy syndrome), or that it's because he keeps on winning and makes it look easy.

Maybe if the winner of each race varied somewhat, it would allow us to pick a favorite and go with him. I'm a Kimi man myself...

Well i use to like Alonso, he seemed to be a good style of charactoer when he was on the cusp. In 2005 i was walkign around the Aus GO wanting to buy Renault gear, or RBR gear and couldnt find any. 18 months later im glad i couldnt as the team have turned out to be a bunch of c0ck knockers...even Fisi has gone bad :whistling:'

Oh well, crosses fingers that Tom Walkinshaw willk get back into Renault and turn it back into a team i like :P

    • I did not go to GTR Festival. It's quite a long drive and the car wasn't dialed in yet. I also wanted to see how the racing portion went before going. From what I can tell the classes were not heads up, index, or bracket - just whoever has the quickest ET wins. Never heard of that sort of thing before and maybe some people like it but it's not my cup of tea. I don't suspect I'll go if that is how the racing is done. I did get the car out three times and had issues each time. Some were my error - haven't raced the car in over two years - and others were parts. Had trouble getting the clutch to slip correctly and remembering how it was set up in the Haltech. Broke some drivetrain parts as well that couldn't be fixed in a couple days to get back out. Season definitely didn't end the way I wanted but at least the bearings are still fine! Not a fleck of material in the filter. Really hoping next year is the year I can actually test this car properly.
    • find it funny everyone claims different fuel chains, do different things with their fuel blah blah blah. We don't have that many fuel terminals in Australia. The fuel tanker trucks drive into the terminal, fill up, and drive directly to the service station and dump out. The majority of fuel you get, is coming out of the same terminals. The variation is actually at the individual service stations and how good their tanks are, as well as how much turn over they actually have. Older fuel stations, that haven't had their tanks replaced are going to end up with the worst fuel. Also a lot of older stations have shit design, and shit maintenance, and end up with more water absorption into the tank. This is when you then get a bad batch of fuel. Other shit things happen, like tanker drivers have a f**k up, and starting to unload the wrong compartment on their truck into the wrong tank.
    • Yeah go with that one
    • This one?? In other news: I cannot tell the difference between my red MX5 with the silver grey hard top......... and the Ferrari 599XX EVO, they might as well be twins, well.......apart from the big wang hanging off the back of the Ferrari...🤔🤣, without the wing they are identical
