fark, what a race.. that was action-packed!

Good on him...he has busted his ass for years...good to see fresh faces on the podium

word. He definitely deserves a win. 100+ starts, he was overdue.

If only schumacher finished with some points :)

Yeah I was hoping to see the championship close up as well. But the Schu dealt his own hand this race he only had himself to blame.

That was definatley an interesting race. tyre choice seemed to be the critical thing on a wet but drying then wet track. which didnt come to use with slicks till about 20 or so laps to go.

ms retired with only 4 or so laps to go and the state of his intermediate tyres was pretty crazy he was driving pretty hard on them but after the track became dry he was dropping around 4seconds a lap compared to de la rosa(sp?)

i went to bed with 2 laps to go but knew button was in. and good on him.

yeah spewing schui didn't pit towards the end for some slicks but i guess he didn't want to give up P2, which in the end cost him any points at all.

fark I hope webber doesn't go to RBR. he would be better off staying at williams.

Robert Kubica just got stripped of his double points finish for being underweight... hard luck. He drove really well, aside from the two spins of course

None the less top race, the commentators went a bit overboard with the screaming at the i think... he won... ok. but look how many people had to DNF for him to do it

yeah, they certainly talked it up. i mean yeah, he won a race. but funnily enough someone wins every grand prix!

bummer for Kubica. Nice to see a pole in there.

I am really pissed that MS didn't hang on until the end. That would have really livened up the championship as I would love to see sanchez under some pressure for once. Just to see how he takes it. he is great when way out in front but I dont think he's all that cool when the pressure is on.

JESUS CHRIST!!!

Anyone been to itv.com/f1 lately???

According to them, Jenson won the race, is now the title favorite and has finally cured cancer!!! all in the one day... amazing!! he really is the second coming of the messiah

have a look at the home page and the stories that dominate it!!!

jenson can suk my wang. getting a win after years and years with potentially race winning teams is no great achievement.

Umm, how many wins do Honda have? and from 14th (but with exclusions of Shuey and Alonso)

I say good on Jenson, with a top contending car/team he would be doing much better (of course)...not to say Honda is crap, but they are a new team compared to Ferrari, Williams, Renault.

But yeah, Jensen is God at itv-f1 at the mo :(

Button is god to them at every single race, it really is a joke how much they crap on about how good he is. :(

Personally i was hopeing Rubens would get the break through for them :D

Anyway to more important issues!

Why the F*%K would Webber go to RBR? :)

Athough they have more backing than Williams i don't think they will be a top team for a few years at least, a few years Webber dosn't have. i just don't understand ??

Any thoughts to explain why???

i thought rbr wasnt too bad. they seem to be doing alot better than williams.... i think.

I agree, the commentators spoiled what would have been an awesome F1 race, possibly the most entertaining in 2006.

Sure, he won his first GP. But its only taken him how many years? He isnt that great a driver in my opinion, and had a few other drives stayed in the race it could have turned out completely differently.

I would have been more impressed with the win if half the field hadnt DNF'ed.

As for coming from 14th... didnt Alonso come from that part of the field to lead for quite alot of the race? Keeping in mind Alonso and Schumi both came from the back of the pack too, its not that great an achievement.

yeah I may have been a bit harsh but he won a race that had no schuey, no alonso, no kimi, no montoya so lot's of big names either out of the race (whilst in front of JB) or just absent.

still, good on him.

i thought rbr wasnt too bad. they seem to be doing alot better than williams.... i think.

True, but are they better than a Renault or Maclaren ..... i think not

If he has signed with RBR they must have put a very very good offer on the table me thinks.

Also, just read that Renault maybe suppling RBR with engines next season ...........the plot thickens

RBR is supposedly a good option for Weeber because the areo will be an Adrian Newey design with either Ferrari or Renault engine... And you saw the top end pull of schumi's Ferrari here at Hungary.

If you do think about it seriously for a moment, RBR will be up there sooner rather than later, why not jump in while there's still an seat to jump into

Button wins a GP...bout time

I cant watch this anymore with these biased pommy dckhead commentators...what a joke at the end when they yelled...HE WON!!!!..please no more for me...more sleep for me on Sunday nights but

RBR for Webber is a mystery team to join...they could be strong with the aero but who knows..too much of a wild card..renault would be safer

yeah, renault would equal short term results which is exactly what webber needs right now before his career is over. no point in looking at long term prospects, he needs RESULTS next year or he will no longer be in a strong negotiating position to get a better drive.

    • Means something is not set up right, tune/calibration related.
    • Finally replaced the previous temporary mesh indicator surrounds (temporary was the last 10+ years 😂) with a 3D printed GTR style version for the front indicators. I think it looks a lot nicer than the old setup and at least the indicators now point in the correct direction rather than angled off. Needed a little bit of tweaking to deal with the intercooler piping but got there in the end. Old and new photos below.
    • It's weird to me that you say this because I'm pretty sure locals with relatively standard standalone tunes (boost/barometric compensated alpha-N) still have driveability issues when they pop intercooler hoses. Maybe with enough data I can just train some kind of model that spits out an expected grams/cyl given every sensor input except MAF like what FCA did with their Pentastar 3.6 ECU logic. Basically stock everything. The main motivation honestly is to have a sensor that can be a decent baseline source of truth. In scenarios you're describing obviously it won't work every time but it seems to me the number of corner cases that exist in MAF load is maybe not as severe and difficult to manage vs ITB alpha-N with some MAP/barometric compensation.
    • What are your plans for your blow off valves? Purely plumb back? How soft will the spring in them be? AFM can be tricky to get super smooth and nice, especially depending on the rest of the system, and then can be very easily upset if something slightly changes. IE, even if you run recirc blow off valves, you could still see issues getting it to behave at certain load points as turbos might start to spool, but you release the throttle but it's not enough pressure to crack the bov open to recirc, and you can end up with reversion which can cause double metering, and hence dumping of fuel into the system, and stalling the engine.   If you're going to run a map sensor for closed loop boost control from the ECU, what makes you want to keep the AFM?
    • It's not bad, it's just not flexible. And say if you have any leaks between the MAF and plenum, well then your load axis goes out the window. Here's a real world scenario, I blew off an intercooler hose last track day, as the clamp decided to Bluetooth itself somewhere. Still continued to do 2 laps and drive it to the pub for a couple of beers then home. Good luck doing that with a MAF setup
