Hey fellas,

Im pretty new to this site so if ive f**ked up somehow with the way ive added this topic feel free to write me off.

Anyways, My R33 gtst has recently been fitted with a new rb25det 97 model motor. It has turbo back exhaust, front mount, k and n pod, boost to 12psi, dump and front pipe and a hi flow cat. KYB struts and hard coils and 235 reo40 tyres.

The question is how far off staying level with a stock r33 or r32 gtr it is? the reason I am asking is if it is a fair way off, I have the money ill piss it off and by a gtr.

So a bit of advice would be appreciated guys. what 400m time could i expect with these mods? high 13s?

Thanks again, This site is great im learning a lot from it

If you're going to modify a car up, you always start from the model that has all the bits you're not planning on replacing.

For Skylines, that's the GT-R since nothing else comes with the hydraulic ATTESSA and its way too expensive to retrofit it on a lower model. You don't necessarily need to look for a V-Spec or N1 if you're planning on replacing the brakes / turbo etc, but that stuff's bolt on compared to the drivetrain.

You might be able to keep up with a stock R32 / R33 GT-R (I'm assuming in a straight line, around the bends its still going to disappear on you), but good luck finding a stock GT-R on the roads.

If you are prepared to spend another $5k you can get some great fun out of your R33..

Don't buy an old 89/90 model GTR for $22k if that is what you are thinking. I wouldn't spend too much less than 30k to get a good R32 GTR

ive owned an 32 and 33 gtst and most recently had an r33 gtr. when the gtr was all stock except removed boost restrictor and HD clutch it ran 12.8@106. the gtst's i had, had mods similar to yours and would not even come close to the gtr.

as much as I loved the gtst's, once i sat in the gtr I knew that I would never go back... go the gtr if you can!
