R34 4 Pinion Diff

Anyone have any info on 4 pinion diffs in R34 GT-T's (after 10/99)

Am curious to know hope it works, parts page or service manul extract would be great.

Does it still have a viscous lsd center or is it mechanical?

R34 diff knowledge is not easy to come by.

I'm about to pull out my viscous diff so we can check that out but build date is about july 99 I think.

i didn't think any nissan OEM diffs were mechanical, if you are refering to the helical/torsen diff (as on S15/R34 GTR) they are not mechanical .

It doesn't lock both wheels together like a mechanical, it tries to distribute the torque between both wheels for max traction, that is if one wheel slips it will transfer torque to the other wheel (ie torque sensing), it can do this up to a ratio of 5-6 times what the lesser wheel has. But lift one wheel off the ground (zero traction) and the helical diff will open wheel
