Thanks again for a cracker of a day Pete. Can't wait to do it again.

Sorry to hear about the negative comments regarding the day. The fact that it was someone I know fairly well soured the experience a little, but I want it known that I don't agree with the comments that were made.

Most of the problem was apparently due to the lack of instruction. I've since informed him that we actually requested for the day to be run this way.

The other criticism of the day was the sheer volume of anti-WRX comments that were apparently coming from everywhere. I didn't have any problem with it at all and laughed it off (I even join in sometimes-anyone for clutch served well done?) but other less confident people found it a little intimidating.

I know Jeff (555WRX) and Ryan (Clio Sport) had a great day and I had about as much fun as is possible with my clothes on!

Anyways, thanks again Pete. Don't listen to the critics, your efforts were greatly appreciated by everyone except for a vocal minority.

Great catching up with all you Skyline guys I know and Maj I hope you enjoyed the shower! :)

Cheers,

Ben

Yeah, fair point about the lack of instruction, if someone was there for that they would have been disappointed. Kel made the same comment until I told her that we had asked for minimal instruction.

Perhaps next time we need to make it clear that the day is about fun, not structured learning.

Or even better, lets get enough ppl from here next time so everyone knows the story....as I understand it pete only invited the others coz not enough ppl here put their hands up.

I actually made a half-hearted comment during the day to someone about how they should be teaching people how to take those corners in the wet instead of sitting on their asses and just scream out lame jokes when people spin...

But I guess if you guys asked for no instruction, then that's all good! :) Personally I wouldn't know the best way to get my car to pirouette and do a 360 around the first witches hat as seen in one of the course layouts, and I would want to be taught how to do it instead of floundering like a chump out there :)

At the driver briefing - McGill went thru a few basic moves, recoveries etc - He also emphasised that he was going to run the day so everyone has 'fun'.

I'm sure if someone went up to him and said "I'm having trouble with so and so" he would have been more than happy to help out with some instruction. In fact - I saw him noticing some drivers who were a bit hesitant - He would motion the driver over and go for a lap with them. I know this only happened a couple of times, but it showed that he was available for help.

Cheers,

yea the idea of the day was to just have fun

i asked for basically no instruction

i think in the whole day i only did three runs where i didnt spin out( a bad case of lack of talent), and merli anytime you want to learn how to pull a 360 before the first witches hat i have had some practice and am pretty good at it... lol

belive it or not i actually payed for a mate of mine to come allong that is a qualified instructor just incase some people needed help .... however after he was the first to beach his hsv i kept that quite.. lol

bruce tops job on the beaching

pete

lol! a few of us had a theory that you'd bought along some good drivers in those 2 door commodores as a bit of a joke! Now we know!

And to think they ran traction control in the timed laps...the shame....

How did the incar turn out Dino?

If its any good, I'd like a copy please.

Some good photo's guys, I liked the Duncan vid, but I must say, he wasn't the only one to kill a witches hat on the day.

Actually, the witches hat emergency room was pretty well snowed under.
