R32gtst4 Problem.......

my friend had just bought a R32 GTST4 from japan....

the engine is all std except aftermarket FMIC, some aftermarket exhaust, but it got a aftermarket ECU.....there are some stickers like 'stage2' on it......

I test drive his car, it is !@#$%^ slow....even slower than a 1.5 echo i reckon...

i find out the that the powerband of this car is from 3000-4000 rpm, but after 4000 rpm, the car become accelerate very slow.....even slower than my mum's corolla...

At first, i thought the turbo have something wrong with it..but the reading of the boost gauge still boost up to 0.7BAR....so i reckon the turbo is alrite...

So i thought there is something to deal with the ECU?

Have any tried this issue before? Any idea how to solve it?

Is the stock ECU of R32GTST same as GTST4?

maybe the car was modded but they took all the aftermarket parts off and replaced with standard items but left the aftermarket ECU in? So the current ECU might not be right for the car now.

just try the stock ECU....doesn't help.....any idea how to fix it?

I had a similar problem, check your coils, afm, and your fuel filter! My problem turned out to be an extremely old fuel filter, once replaced the car drove perfectly

I was thinking a blocked off cat maybe, or possibly leaking intake from the compressor thru the intercooler to the throttle body. Or even a head to turbo exhaust leak but that would be causing lag as well as crap top end.

Check the timing, coil packs, fuel filter/fuel pump, AFM..

Problem solved.....

The cam angle sensor is not working properly.....

beofre it was running 47kw atw.....and now i got 122kw.....

all std except some aftermarket exhaust and FMIC...
