hey guys, sorry if this has been posted before, i recently installed my fmic on my 33. The cars runnin real bad, starting to jerk anything over 3rpm. Never done this before i installed the fmic. When i replaced the top cooler pipe (the one with the nipple) i noticed the new one dsoent have one? however i got some sort of blue pipe in the package? im unsure of where it goes as it says nothing in the instructions? Will that fix the problem? is it necessary to drill a hole in the top ic pipe to weld that little nipple back on? Im 99% sure the cars troubles are due to the fact that at the moment i have a screw blocking of the pipe which connected to the old intercooler top pipe, to prevent the car from having unlimited boost.

Obviously i dont no much about my car as yet, but thats my understanding so far, please correct me where im wrong.

Thanks heaps guys, any help would be greatly appreciated.

the pipe from the intercooler piping to the turbocharger actuator is part of the boost control system. if this is disconnected or removed you will run unlimited boost and risk your engines safety. you are getting jerky feeling from the stock ecu doing its self protection as theres too much airflow coming in. connect the pipe up a nipple on the intercoller piping and all will be well again

hey guys i installed the nipple thingy and connected it up, car runs immac now im rapt. Just one more question, my boost gauge now reads 5psi max, i pushed it and it wont go over five, im pretty sure these come out stock bout 7-8 pounds. i dont have an aftermarket boost controlller or anything. Is it normal to lose 2 psi? if i want my boost back up to standard will i have to purchase a bleed valve or boost controller now?

thanks heaps

hey guys, i didnt have a niple on mine, and the hose thats was previosly connected to the std nipple has now been t'd into the fuel pressure reg hose bottom of manifold.......is that ok, only thing is this way the hose goes across the cover and is long......it seems to read fine though? any thoughts?

^that setup is fine.

You can also use the vacuum/pressure feed going to the BOV so it doesn't run over the top of the engine.

When you get an aftermarket turbo() it will probably have a nipple fitting on the compressor housing that you can use.

    • Hey, like MBS206 mentioned; I dropped off my short block and rotating assembly Monday. With a quick verification, he believes he can clear it up with just a hone and new rings but he will confirm once the rotating assembly is out. If I were you, I would either go stroker or just replace the block if it does need to be bored over to next size. Block is cheaper then forged pistons.
    • live in the UK, and London has introduced a Low Emission Zone (LEZ) that requires individuals to pay £13 if their car doesn’t meet the required emissions standards.   The standard specifies that NOx emissions must be less than 0.08 g/km (i.e., the vehicle must meet Euro 4 standards or better, which generally results in NOx levels of around 0.08 grams per kilometer).   I reached out to Nissan UK, and they advised me to contact Nissan Japan directly. Does anyone have contact details for Nissan Japan or any certifications of conformity that show the emission details or NOx levels for the RB25DET engine?   Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.
    • these guys recommended to me and supplied custom 4 inch mufflers, couldn't be happier. They will spec a muffler to your preferred level of sound and know RB's well.  https://spmufflers.com.au/
    • Yeah this used to happen to me every year and a quick call would at least raise the agreed value back up / reduce the premium, but usually both.    That said for the first time on the renewal this year our agreed values went up or stayed the same over the fleet and the premium came down so that was a nice surprise.
    • I don't even go that hard core. I just say "how do you expect me to stay, when you increase my premium, and reduce the value of the car?"   Then play a game of shut the f**k up. Most of the time it's a computer that did the adjustment, and the people will happily change it around for you.
