thanks ctjet. we don't have a shop front with cars in stock though. Also we're a broker, not a dealer, so whatever the car costs to buy is what you get the car at, no markups included like dealers.

When visiting some import dealers be very careful, some dealers, even reputable ones are known for covering up cars in bad shape by putting on a bodykit and a new lick of paint and then winding back the k's.

Really amusing driving past a dealer that's local to me, you see a Soarer, R33, FTO and supra, all in the same shade of blue paint.

hey, can anyone tell me anything about ssv in melb, good or bad etc... and any other dealer/importers in melb?

SSV? I think they were selling imported cars at really high prices, not sure about now.

As with importers, some are good, some aren't, none that I know has any related qualification to proper sales, marketing and research. They are all getting their cars from pretty much the same sort of place, so the quality of the cars that they find is not their responsibility. Its all business so you will be paying a lot more than what the car is worth unfortunately (everybody wants a piece of your car's worth).

A good importer can give you a full report, service books and pictures any time. He will not pressure you into buying a car because of some auction cutoff period or whatever.

And, he should be able to find the exact car that you want, otherwise most importers should be OK.

Good luck.
