Taking Restictors Out Of Gtr

Just wondering if when you take the restrictors out of a R32 GTR how safe it makes it. Do you get boost spikes or it stay under 15psi like I have heard?? Was going to put an electronic boost controller in but I would just leave it at 15psi anyway. Please people with experience with this wb.

not sure about the R32 GTR but my dead stock 33r went from 12psi standard to about 14.5 without the restrictor. boost stayed constant, no spikes and power went up by 20awkw.

Would be the same you would think. I just heard a guy had a problem with it spiking occasionally. But no one else I have talked to said they had a problem.

Adam, you can do it this way quite safely. However...

The results aren't as predicatable as you may have been led to believe. The results people get vary from car to car. A better bet is to spend all of $80 or $90 on a Turbosmart bleed valve. That way you can set exactly the boost you want (up to a point).

A bleed valve will not always give a straight line boost response. Mine (by way of an example) carries a little more boost lower in the rev range than at the upper end. A properly set up EBC will give you a flat line all the way across the engine rpm - up to the point where either the turbo can't move sufficient air (& the boost will drop off) or the waste gate can't move sufficient air(&the boost will climb).

Its looks like all my vacuum lines have been changed. Where would I find the restrictor in the vacuum lines?? Is there just one I need to take out?? Does it come from the actuator. Please help.

If you have a 32 GTR look for the lines going near the drivers side strut tower. there will be two lines and 1 has a yellow band around it. Thats the one with the restrictor in it.

Cant find those lines. Are they near the motor?? Where do they come from?? Thats the only one I need to remove??
