I was starting work at 5.30 am so i thought i will take my car as i had no means to get there. That went well, but on my way home i was pulled over for a rendom check.I expalained that i was on suspension and that i had no means to get to work.To that copper didint seem to be touched, however he was really decent, didnt show emotions but expalined that i will need to go to court. I was curious and wanted to find out what the outcome could be, he responded that i might get licence suspension extended or might get away with it.I had never been convicted or engaged in any criminal act appart from speeding fines and i supose current suspension. He also took my details down on a piece of paper and didnt hand over anything to me. I am just wondering what are the possible outcomes for this. Please help as i am very desperate

You will probably recieve a summons to appear at court being charged with driving while on a suspended license. If it is a charge and your found guilty, it will go on your criminal record and they usually double the license suspension time (e.g. if youre on 3 months suspension, they will put an extra 6 months on).

Good luck with it.

just hope he has a really busy month. but if come next week he has nothing to do, he will go through his notebook and start issuing those notices he hadn't got around too. all i can say is driving while suspended is not a good idea no matter what the circumstances. it's always best to wait it out.

normaly you are sent to jail for a 1 month sentence if you are caught for the 3rd time whilst suspended.

so dont stress about that.

as long as i dont go to jail, i have really learnt my lesson, im in victoria and i am really freaking out to be honnest

my mate lost his licence three times, got caught drink driving while suspended...... he cried in court and the judge let him off....

i would have sent him to jail just for crying!

dunno bout VIC, but in SA our jails are full, so petty crimes will not get u a ticket into one. You wont go for jail man, just get used to public transport/treadly

yah dont stress too much, my dads a copper and that what he said.

chancer are youll get licence suspended for an extra 6 months plus fines, and thats it

I had never been convicted or engaged in any criminal act appart from speeding fines and i supose current suspension.

This means you have a driving record.

You have enough of a bad driving history that you had your licence suspended.

When you go to court, it is your previous driving record that will be scruitinized, not "other criminal history".

You chose to drive suspended rather than going through the proper channels, which would possibly have allowed you to still be able to drive to and from work while under "suspension".

Some states don't consider driving unlicenced and uninsured to be "petty", especially when the person is a repeat offender/has traffic history.

I've been pulled over a few times over the years for various offenses and like you had the officer note my details saying they'll be in touch but no ticket ect on the spot..happily on all ocassions I never heard another thing, alot of that probably comes down to attitude with a more than moderate dose of luck. I hope you have the same luck, but I feel the seriousness of your offence will warrant further action and will most probably not just disappear. You should have applied for that exemption!!!

    • My idle is set at 950rpm though - Moving the timing around 20 degrees is not really what I'd call a calm idle. That said... neither is chop, by definition. The LS ECU likes to adjust timing to hold idle as opposed to air. It'd work, but generally speaking there'd be a discrepancy in the base idle and the IACV would want to move the timing around anyway to maintain said idle. I think I'm just going to keep the timing steady anyway. Preserve my engine mounts.  My aircon is now officially regassed. As the guy was reversing I noticed my reverse lights do not operate, along with my reverse cam. This is a bit distressing, because 100% of guides talk about which wire to connect to backup cams as "the goes with the [other color] wire". Often when doing conversions. Unfortunately the R34 colour wires aren't documented Unfortunately I had a T56 Magnum gearbox with it's reverse switch, which also isn't documented. Unfortunately there's definitely not documentation for people with both of these in the one car. Unfortunately I forgot. After many hours of this, I have a reverse cam and reverse lights again. The wire going through the trans tunnel to the reverse switch had broken. Upon inspection, it looks like this one wire had about 7 spade terminals and extensions in it.. for reasons I cannot possibly comprehend. I also spent the 750 hours required to clean up the wiring behind my head unit which now looks like this: This is a monumental improvement relative to what used to be there WRT triple gauges, head unit, traction control, wideband controller, and whatever the f**k OEM stuff still exists there in various states of connectivity/needed. Next step is to check in at the Exhaust shop to see/confirm how much clearance I have, to decide what mid mufflers or 'resonators' (which are just straight through, narrower mufflers) I can add and hopefully cut out a lot of exhaust leaks, pinhole, v-band or otherwise. But first step will be to 'take a look' before the next step.
    • Fark the AFM card and Nistune, Haltech Nexus S3, DBW, cruise control, flex fuel, dis dat.
    • It's most likely the bolt/bush where the cover bolts back wore and allowed cover to move forward.
    • Still haven't put the injectors and R35 AFM in so we can tune the bloody thing for the HG highflow it got mid last year! I think I can forecast the upgrade path to a bigger twin scroll, external gate, Haltech, flex setup, Samsonas, dis dat, etc will be .... a while away!
    • Should have taken that opportunity to slot in a twin scroll turbo setup. Maybe next time.
