Andrew... I too await adsl2, hopefully there's no issues, I suspect there may be though. :S

1283kilobits is roughly 160kb/s. So pretty spot on for a 1.5mbps connection.

Take the speed testers with a pinch of salt...

I would consider Adam or Internode.

Adam if you simply check email + a little web browsing.

Internode if you want an all round excellent service that is always up with awesome international speeds.

Do remember you get what you pay for... You can't go past internode when it comes to their service and quality. Well worth the few extra $$.

I'm with EFtel. Crap service, for example, when we connected there was some stuffup with my friend getting charged twice, and it took three different people to rectify it, but other than that.. good. The best part - 512/128 ADSL, NO limit, NO shaping. 70 bucks a month :) If you're a big downloader, they're one of the few companies that don't shape the bandwidth.

andrew, where is your nearest exhange?

Duc, we're about 2km from the exchange, which is "planned" with internode.

Problem is that Northgate runs off RIMs - we had to wait ages for ADSL to be available at all.

thats disappointing and frustrating to say the least. the 'planned' exchange wouldnt happen to be gepps cross would it? a few of my mates and i are waiting to be ported over to adsl2+ but are being pending on some issues being recified or sorted by telstra.

i was actually thinking of changeing my home telstra cable to adam over the next month.....

same im on cable but thinking ADSL2+ but im right on the max about 4kms from exchange so i need to hear from sum1 @ same distance and wot speeds they get d/ling

Sorry, but access to this feature is restricted to Internode Customers.

Internode 1,500/256 20Gb $59.95 waiting for DSL2+ to be available (hopefully but unlikely - rim hardware issues).

1283 / 110 on the Internode speed test. Seems low.

if ur on a RIM thats ok so long as where the RIM box is there is full copper cable into that Internode can do a Transposition Order and try to get u moved onto a proper copper phone line

I'm 4.7km's via road from my exchange.

With regards to obtaining an adsl capable phone line another option is to order an ADSL Essential phone line where they connect up another phone line only if its adsl capable. If not they simply pull out and you get charged nothing.

Hope that makes sense... I've just woken up. :D

    • I really don't understand the point of aftermarket oil pumps if your particular engine doesn't need more oil pressure. As far as I can make sense of it the problem seems to be cavitation from sucking air, maybe the pump gear design with how it interfaces with the OEM crank, and maybe the backing plate screws wanting to loosen themselves. How does flowing more oil fix these issues?
    • More photos are up, and the price has been dropped to $16,000. It's just had a service and a new 12V battery, too.
    • I agree on doing some better than factory pistons, rods, and oil pump. For anyone using the vehicle on the road, I don't get why everyone wants big cams. The stock cam profile, with some more lift would be mint for road usage. Everyone going big cams and then wondering why it isn't as responsive in traffic, when they've shifted the torque curve upwards an additional 1000RPM. Make torque, at lower RPM. Sure it's not as cool as claiming "500KW" and revving it to 8,0000RPM, but that same torque 2,000RPM earlier... Then you don't need the extremely high end pistons and rods, and blah blah blah.
    • Personal experience. Those f**kers burn. And are actually a PITA to put out. Next time I walk down the back, I'll snap a photo of what the inside of the bonnet looks like when that thing ignites. PS, powder fire extinguishers are useless on that stuff too as it's fibrous and when it ignites, it starts to pull apart. And you end up just blowing powder through a sieve effectively.   Like the big thing is, if it's fire resistant, it's job is to stop what burning? The METAL above it? It's just to try keep heat off the bonnet paint work.
