Anyone Got A Car Trailer?

My brother did a smart thing and let his skyline go out of rego more than 3 months, and he's jet setting off to europe for 8 months. i've said i'll register it so we can sell it.

Does anyone have a car trailer i can borrow (for $$$ of course) for a day? otherwise i'll just hit up a servo or kennards, but i thought i'd see if anyone was nice enough to loan a fellow SAUer a trailer for cheap.

Anywho, if not look out for my brothers skyline in a few weeks when it's registered and all shiny looking for a new owner

term i am pretty sure you can ring up the RTA and pay like $8 or something to get a day pass. This allows you to drive to the RTA to get it inspected.

Yeah you can just get passes to drive it.

Saves a lot of hassle.

Car is in bathurst, i need to bring it here so i can look after it/register it

but i might take that offer up, see if i can get it registered in bathurst first

You can also get a permit to drive it to a location to sell it.

I think you only need a raodworthy cert. and the permit.

They used to be about $16 for the permit plus approx $30 for the pink/blue slip/roadworthy.

ok, cool thanks for that. I'm in ACT system mode, so i forget how NSW works. no trailer needed for me

I have heard you can't driver between/inter states on permits. I think the chance of you getting caught is unlikely but it's something to consider/think about.

^ nah you can drive interstate as long as you take the shortest route directly to your destination.

I got a permit in VIC and they said its fine to drive thru NSW and ACT to get home.

might be different, when i had my stagea on a temp rego in ACT, i had to take it to Queanbeyan for repairs. the guy at the government shopfront said i couldn't drive it anywhere except in the ACT, so i just winged it.
