Gtst4 In The Carport! Let The Maintenance Begin

Hi Everyone,

Well i've got the car in the garage now. Picked up my RB20DET powered GTST4 from townsville an drove back to cairns today.

The car ran pretty well, until i'd run the first 100k's, and then it started having its first issues....

It seems that its dropping ignition in at least 1 maybe 2 cylinders. I've already spoken with a few people and they say its probably the ignitor coil packs.

The funny thing i've since found out is that the don't play up if the engine is cold or warm. Only when its fully up to temperature does it really start to miss.

So tomorrow i'll be swapping plugs, oil change, filter changes, diff oil change, and see how things look after that.

Anyone have any other suggestions about my ignition issue? Could it also be the ignitor module thats mounted on the rocker cover?

actualy sounds like the ignitior, they are known to crap out especialy if its dropping more than one cyl at a time.

happend to a friend of mine, couldnt figure it out but ended up being the ignitior.

both coils and ignitor are suspect, check both.
