Does anybody know if the Nismo Keys that are gettin around fit a Stagea?

I asked Nengun, and they said they don't think it will cos the Stagea is similar to the ER34, not a definate answer so i thought someone on here would know for sure.

I've got a nismo key (blank) that l'm using for my other car, which supposedly fits most skyline's, so l'd be under the assumption it would be fine, as l can't see there being much difference between the stagea key barrell & the R33's.

Also, make sure whoever cuts it does a good job, as obviously replacing it will be a rather more expensive proposition!!!

I'd probably take it to a keycutter rather than your local hardware store who might cut maybe 2-3 keys a week...

It's not like you've just shelled out for a key that you could have bought directly from the cutter for $2 (or whatever a blank key costs nowadays).

Thats exactly what i'll be doing, they should be able to use the number off my original key, and punch it out on the nismo key, i've had that done before.

Much more acurrate than cutting with the grinder when they copy a key.

Mines still got the numbers on it ;)

Oh by the way, i emailed Greenline and they have confirmed that the Nismo key, that they and Nengun sell will fit the series 1 stagea, don't know about the series 2 though.

on the subject of keys, does anyone know how to program the chip in the key hob to enable remote locking?

i cut a blank nissan key to match the original for a spare. the hob of the key has 2 buttons: lock & unlock.

the newly cut key starts the engine fine (i was suprised!) and now I want to know how to program the chip in the key hob so remote locking works.

sometimes there is a bizarre sequence of actions like insert & remove key 5 times in 10 secs, open/shut door etc.

any suggestions?

My cousin had a key programmed for her N16 Pulsar, can't remember where she bought it, but had it programmed by a Nissan dealer.

It might be an idea to ring your local dealer and see if they can do it, surely the sequence can't be too different between models.

Also, I believe there are some places who cut keys who are also able to do the programming for you, if you still can't manage to find the sequence or process to do it yourself.

i only got one key with my car, and for some reason it's bent. it still starts the car, but i doubt i could get a key cut for it. some genious has ground off the numbers on the key as well.

to get a key cut fresh, i'm assuming i'll need to take the car to a dealer or locksmith for them to get a number off the ignition barrel?

Cool, interesting reading chook! Wonder if it works with aftermarket ECU's, eg PowerFC?

Meh still, when I got my Mongoose alarm hooked up, it disabled the key door lock/unlock from working, good thing I got two alarm keyrings :)

Please note that size 10 keys have been discontinued.

Only some places still have the item in stock.

Its amazing what u find out about Stageas.

Only today i asked my local M10 for a spare key they said they could cut.

Now i've read this. Hmmmmm! The numbers have been ground off the only key supplied.

    • Hi everyone! I’m the new owner of a 1996 R33 GTS-T, I’ve purchased this car over from Queensland and brought it to Western Australia and I’ve found that there is a hole cut out in the engine bay for the FMIC that enters into the wheel well (fender liners are in the boot). For anyone that has had to get their car over the PITS here, will this be a major issue?
    • Yeah I've spotted this one too, whenever it's lotto superdraw week and I'm browsing car sales dot com for my new ride They must be dreaming, maybe it's worth 150k for the link to Brock?
    • 100% accurate!  We are a pack of know it alls....  But, I bet people go to you when they have a problem! I've been on a bit of a clean up rampage too over the past month!  I've thrown more shit in the bin over the past 2 weeks than I have in the past 3 years combined! Anyway, it's all good fun being different! My wife sometimes does not agree!
    • ADHD in all form isn't about "can focus, or can't focus" or is hyper active or isn't etc.   It's all a dysregulation. Either time feels to be stationary, or time just vanishes in a split second. We are either under focussed on the task at hand (as we're over focussed on our surroundings) or we have no idea an atomic bomb went off beside us as we're so hyper focussed and locked in on things.   Not to mention the rapid fire thought process. What it takes a "normal" process to think up a solution to a problem, ADHD will be able to give you 5 different ways to solve the problem, and the pros and cons of each. While we can be highly impulsive and lack the ability to "control ourselves" we can also become paralysed with the inability to make a decision for ourselves. While most of us have an OCD like requirement for perfection, we lack the ability often to remain focussed to get things to a perfect state. Those with undiagnosed ADHD as adults, can often find the last part actually stops them ever attempting to do things that they have the ability to do, as the reasoning is often "if I can't do it perfectly, it's not worth doing"   As for projects... Ha ha ha, I still need to take the other half of my wall trim down in the Fiance's office so I can paint it. Need to finish digging and running the back yard drains, my R33, getting the Ninja bike registered (now being sold), the moped project, fixing either of the lawn mowers so they're reliable, along with a myriad of other things.   It's why I've been going through lately and just being brutal and clearing projects off that I won't actually ever complete. IE, moped will go to the tip, or be given away, bike is being sold, Subaru project being sold, some parts for other projects given away. Or I've been making myself focus on one thing at a time, by ticking off the smallest quickest ones first.   There's also a reason by our mid twenties we seem to be "know it alls", as we've all been down some of the weirdest and oddest rabbit holes when you follow the dopamine trail. It's often also why we're more a jack of all trades, but not a master of one.   However, pretty much all of my hobby projects, in one way or another, all come back around to automotive. That's my zen area.
    • Remember reading about this not too long ago. been for sale for a long time  this is like when the wife says you need to sell the car so you put it up for a ridiculous price no one will pay
