Lazy-Bastard
when people are saying 400 k's to a tank, is that 400k's till your fuel light comes on? or 400k's all up? My fuel light comes on at ~400k's, but there is still 10L left once that happens, so theoretically I could get another 80 or so k's Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/105461-charcol-cannister/page/2/#findComment-1944788 Share on other sites
SKY 34
my fuel light light up at 360+ usually Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/105461-charcol-cannister/page/2/#findComment-1945082 Share on other sites
n15m0
The best way I have found to gauge fuel consumption is, fill the tank full, reset the odo, run it till almost empty (doesn't have to be when the lights on), when refilling next look at how many litres you need to get back to full then check how many ks you've done. That would be the most accurate way to say how many ks you get per litre. Spook's_Skyline
yer, i dont go on fuel gauge, but use the trip meter and how many litres i fill up on if i drive til empty, i could probbaly squeeze 350 generally its 50 litres for 300ks Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/105461-charcol-cannister/page/2/#findComment-1945598 Share on other sites
NismoGirl
I've only ever seen my fuel light come on once and I'm too scared to drive it till my light comes on!! hungry6
Same here, as Erin, for a few dollars versus pushing the car or walking along the highway. I'll think I'll pay the extra money to be inside cruising along with the A/C on. But I'm lucky to get 300kay/tank Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/105461-charcol-cannister/page/2/#findComment-1945736 Share on other sites
nF
i get about 400 to ~48litres, i've never run it till the light comes on however since my mercury tune i've been blowing more smoke than a woodstock festival and people who drive behind me complain of stinging eyes also i get loud backfires from shifting from 1st to 2nd and 2nd to 3rd about half the time however i just give whoever i just scared a wink like i meant it Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/105461-charcol-cannister/page/2/#findComment-1945750 Share on other sites

Konrad
I get those figures - seems 350-400ks per tank depending on the amount of city/highway driving. A/F ratos are perfect on the last dyno run i did (only about a month ago). I think theres a few people on here that pull the 500k figures out of their probervials. Maybe i'm wrong (which i'll readily admit), or maybe their cars run dangerously lean. I also remember reading an article in HPI where they guy that used to own a soarer that writes in the mag (maybe martin donnon??) was talking about the issue of warming up your car for 5 mins vs just turning the key and driving straight off. Concensus was it was waaaay better for fuel econ to just drive off as the car runs rich as when cold. Hence it was better to go Maybe its relevant in this case- like a temp sensor or even a thermostat problem -car is colder or at least thinks its colder than it is so runs rich for a longer period. Oh i too get the fuel smell from time to time, no leaks i could find either. Another point would be the issue of atmo bov vs plumback. Maybe thats causing problems too??? dangerous_daveo
Well my a/rs are spot on 12, its almost a straight line. And no joke I got 530kms BEFORE my fuel light came on the other day (90%highway driving) and then it was 610kms before I filled up. Keeping in mind I have a heavier car than most of you, and a smaller engine, which should mean more load and more fuel used. So, dont mean to be harsh, but for some of you maybe its your driving style? But I do belive spooks and 53xyn really have a problem. Spook's_Skyline
yup, my afrs are almost spot on 12 as well doesnt seem to matter if i put around on low boost not boosting or drive around on high boost not not boosting perhaps a bit of highway running gets me slighter better returns, but id be lucky to see 400ks from a tank (nearly got 400 driving back from stanthorpe) also, my charcoal cannister was also unhooked when i had the fmic/plennum done hence the original post im going to get my cannister hooked up again anyway, just to see if it makes a diff; Edited February 13, 2006 by Spook's_Skyline Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/105461-charcol-cannister/page/2/#findComment-1946793 Share on other sites
The Dan
A mild modded skyline should still get 400ks around town. 500 in the highway. I get nearly 400ks to a tank and I drive like I'm always late....oh hang on, I always am. satanic
My GT-T at the moment is getting just under 400kms per tank (55L) and I think that's pretty bad I'm keen on knowing if there is a quick and simple solution to this... I've noticed that the bigger turbo has helped improve it a bit (especially in the city) due to the lag. Not on boost as often But yes, quick and inexpensive fix - bring it on! The Dan
I challenge anyone to take up my offer. I will come out (you pay for fuel and it must be in brisbane) and if I can't fix the problem or tell you what the problem is...you don't pay me. Anyone getting 400k's or more can bugger off coz you aint got problems cept the right foot. I get close to 600Ks on mine B) Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/105461-charcol-cannister/page/2/#findComment-1947015 Share on other sites
