Thinking I might just get one of those ARC SMIC's. There's a used one on eBay for around $400.

As for dump pipe, I'm looking at the justjap dump and front mild steel one. I figure if I get that dump pipe with ARC SMIC, should be more than enough to get around 160rwkw with high flow cat, catback exhaust, fuel pump and sports intake filter.

Will try to avoid ECU and Boost Controller, unless I need to.

I had a boost drop issue with the std rb20det turbo.

I was making 152rwkw on 12.5psi and when dialed in 1bar it made 155rwkw. Problem was boost was dropping from 1 bar to just under 13psi.

Fitted up the ebc, set it in auto mode, learnt the boost curve and it held 1bar to redline making 164rwkw. This was almost 4years ago now. :P

I had mine dyno'd at 173KW (229HP). RB20DET

Just the usual bolt ons + R33 turbo and old Profec EBC which held 0.8bar (12psi) all the way.

The old owner had it dyno'd at 188KW at 1Bar a while ago, but I'm not too keen to run it that high.

Fixxxer ;)

Which ECU are you using? I've got a fuel pump and front mount intercooler in mind, it's just a matter of arranging an ECU. I've heard mixed things about Dr Drift.

Thanks,

Adrian.

I went with an EMS 8860 ecu. It set me back $1450 plus tune.

Roy....

I was running std actuator pressure on the rb20det turbo to make 176rwkw. I suspect my dump pipe is crap as I've always had an issue with boost drop.

I was running 12psi by ~2000rpm which would then tail off to 9psi by peak power.

Now looking at the power curve it was most definitely starting to valve float a little over 4000rpm, now that I've tried running more boost through the new turbo it really pops its ugly head up and pumps up the lifters. :(

But no it never died... Its got within spec shaft movement and feels better than the vg30 I slapped on there. :P
