Akeenan - I will be over in japan over the next 3-6 months, and will also be investing in property here (ps i still live at home ;))

But i agree. I would personally much rather the gtr over the 350gt. mind you i havent driven either, but in the current state, my 33 gtr keeps me happy, its just getting a bit old

We will have to wait and see what people in that market will think of them.

The market's looking pretty good so far.

There was enough interest at the BBQ day. And I think the guy who was importing it said he was getting a fair amount of enquiries.

When I was at Peter Pilkington's garage getting stuff done to my car he had 2-3 people coming in to ask about the one he had parked out front.

The guy who repaired my Brant today is also doing auto electrical work on V35s for Compliance, and he's seriously thinking about buying one.

And if they're popping up in showrooms as "mainstream" as the used car yard in Artarmon (which sells Peugeot / Citroens and used cars) it mustn't be too bad.

What would you guys take. A 99 gtr non vspec or an 03 350GT F6.

In my current situation (i.e. I want a very quick street car that I can do track work and motorsport with) I'd take an R34 GT-R.

But if I've gone off motorsport and going on high speed cruises through national parks and country or coast roads, I'd take the V35 350GT.

The car's fine for rapid drives on said public roads, but its not something you're going to fling through Galston Gorge or the tight inclined sections of the Nasho.

alright i'll crariify

when i purchased the v35 i was the first person to own one in Australia (to my knowledge) now from the talk on here and a few other sections of the forum it appears i have been beaten to actually have the first one the road (owned) hence my sadness...

oh and nick:..... Sooooooooooooooon

What does the tricky auto in the coupe do?

I actually took a 4 door V35 with the 'tricky auto' for a drive last weekend. The car i drove was the GT8 8 speed auto with paddle shift - Awesome car to drive (Just without the kick of a GTR :P )

yup, hence the reason i called that one "the one with the tricky auto" as on the premium model has it.

Jimbo, is yours the 8 speeder?

How can you differentiate between one that does and one that doesn't?

the one that has is called a GT8 i think. i dunno, mabye just drive 'em and if you can shift up seven times, then you got the 8 speed! lol

Yeah, I was about to say that the CVT auto only comes in the sedan.

I was having a chat when I drove the Pilkington's, and he thought he was getting a CVT in his coupe. Turns out there isn't one, which confused his Japanese contact when he was asking if they'd bought the "8 speed or the manual" and the guy kept replying, "No, auto!"

It wasn't until he'd bought and paid for it that he found out it was only available in the 4 door.

nup

pemium auto

no paddles

tiptronic 5sp i think. only on hear shift, no paddles.

still i'd rather that than a sedan :P

ahh, me so stupid... well, i still kind of know what i'm talking about! lol. I did look at a few V35s (mostly coupes) when i was at the auctions in japan last month, and i have to say jimbo, i would rather a conventional, auto (or manual) coupe over the 8 speed sedan too.

    • Hey lads, reviving an old thread.  As an update, since the last time replied to this thread, ive done mostly suspension. Havent touched the motor except for maintenance. Though upon changing spark plugs, found out i had splitfires pre-installed! Updates: - Got me some stock airbox top cover and snorkel to fit onto the original intake. Should be free of defects - Bought a set of R34 GT-T brakes (not installed yet, going to rebuild + respray in champion blue + white 'Nissan' text) - Bought the last set of bilsteins from @Sydneykid and had them installed. Has been making some sounds on the rear but hopefully should be sorted out after this New Year break. - Regreased front caster rod bushings (poly bushes..) - Rear upper camber arms - Whiteline sway bars (BNF27Z 22mm + BNR11XXZ 24mm).  The rear sway bars are a bit short (ive read 50mm else where) but was still able to get them in.  Anyhows, I reckon suspension is sorted now. Maybe replace bushes (do have a set of front upper control arms from SK not installed yet) but should be okay for now. From now, I'm wanting to start working on the motor, drivetrain etc etc. Still debating on the order to go on and what to buy etc but: - ECU ( Haltech or Link ( Link states that it dont support A/T or AWD functions... Can anyone attest to this? ) - Highflow turbo ( ATR43ss2 ) - Intercooler ( Not decided yet, but cant find many good afoordable ones. Toshi says to opt for crossflow Japanese. Bit difficult this one, unless I get a returnflow Blitz from JJ? ) - Injectors ( Any recommendations ? I do have a nismo FPR ( Thanks SK ) ) - Seats - Tune by either Toshi or DVS To be fair, I did consider just keeping the stock turbo and nistuning it. Sat in a mates stock N, that had something like 200kw, and I reckon that felt more than enough. Maybe I should just go this route ahhaha. Too many choices.... Planning a trip down south, so wanting to just clean things up and make sure it gets to and from in one piece. Anything else specifically I should do before ? Cheers lads
    • Must be for the car’s lucky charm 🤷🏽‍♂️ She runs fine, but it just seems to take about 1L less. Maybe I’ll have the oil sump dropped at some point to check if there is anything
    • Hmmm interesting. Mine is the exact same and clearly the right one.  The mystery of the engine oil being full after 3.5-4L continues
    • Yes I as well would like to find out where I could get some of the seat material with the red or blue small squares in it
