Heya Guys and Gals!

I decided to Have Friday off and get my suspenion check at WA suspension as it has been a little bit more bouncy as of late. I got there and they did a quick check of the front to Coil Overs to find out that my front right shock obsorber had leaked out a lot of oil.

Now these are JIC Coilovers and cost quite a bit. I am unable to see exactly what model or part type it is. So here are my options:

1. They said that they had a contact in sydney they can fix and refill it up with oil. But this will take approx 2 weeks. he said if you can find anyone with standard skyline shock absorbers ask to borrow them for 2 weeks we will put a lowered spring on fix the coilover and put it bacl on.

2 Buy new set of coil overs for $2000!! D'OH!!

so guys do you know anyone that specialises here in WA fixing JIC coilovers? if not does anyone out there have any standard skyline shock absorbers with top metal mount or plate? i will pay you $$$$ to borrow them just for 2 weeks...

Thanks for your help once again everyone in advance!

25GTT,

I have a set of complete stock springs and shocks, only missing the rubber bushes, but the reason I took them out was cause they were pretty shit.

If you want them then PM me. If there was anyone in WA who could fix the coilovers then surely Wilkinson would know.

See'ya:burnout:

PM skyzerr33

He got a complete set of 4 Billy's and king spring new for less than that at Wilkos.

At the end of the day , the car will be better handling with suspension that actually goes up and down and imho the jap stuff is way too hard on spring and bump rates.

Cheers

Ken

THANKS KEN & GTST VSPEC!

Just Pm'd Vspec.... might have to harrass skyzer aswell ,Kyles lives 2 mins from me!

Hmmm looks like might also check out wilkinson suspension aswell! WA Suspension seemed really good aswell... might see if wilkinson knows how to fix it locally.... 2 weeks can be quite annoying :uh-huh:

Yeah i do agree with you Ken... my coil overs really are a hard ride.. but cornering is sooo much fun! also with my ride height anything softer and ithink the spoilers would be scraping each time i go on the freeway.... can't win i guess.... low rider equals ruff rider...

dont mean to hijack your thread :D but my right rear susp made a sound today, like as if i had flicked a rock up under the rear of the car or somethin had dropped on the back of the car, a small stick or pebble. Anyway it's actually the suspension, cause nothing fell on my car and this is about the third time i've heard it. i think my bushes are installed incorrectly or are just f***d. when going up my driveway slowly the suspension usually squeaks/creaks a little, today it made a more harsh cracking sound, time to get it checked out. Where is the best place to go? I got tein coilovers.

Adam , how long is a piece of string ?

EVERY top arm front and rear , bottom arm front and rear, cradle mount brackets , Sway bar links and half moons front and rear , Caster bar , shock bush front and rear and a few more I probably forgot could get a bit pricey.

Suggest you take it to a specialist ( my favourite is Wilkinson Suspension but I'm sure there's others ) to track it down and give you a price.

No point doing work thats not reqd.

Back on topic Daniel ? aka 25GTT , I have a spare front set of Teins complete you can borrow.

PS wheres ya pic on the WA pic thread????

Cheers

Ken

Oh and post your g/f's as well , Puhleeze Hehehe

Ken,

My bro did exactly that on his 180SX and it cost him about 1300 in parts alone for all Whiteline bushes (that did also include uprated sway bars front and rear)... but still its pretty expensive. Results were good but even he admits, probably not worth the money. (Except the sway bars and caster bushes, they rock... but control arm bushes dont seem to do a great deal)

Labour is pretty expensive on it due to there being so many you need to replace. We did it ourselves, with a nifty home made bush removal tool.... took us many hours having never done it before.

HAAHAH Funny bugger!

Waiting to here form Skyzer...maybe he had a big weekend and hasn't read the forums yet:(

If no luck with him i might have to harass you ken or gtstvspec for the suspension:D

Thanks for that!

Oh ummmm and as far as the pic goes... yeah i will try to get one up....

why u waiting to hear form me :D

aint he a sweetie

yeah i got new shocks and springs, car drives a treat, $1300 fitted.

the springs are kings, slighty lower 25mm and abit stiffer. but if i were Dan i'd get yours fixed as there a good unit.

if you can't fins some one to fix em rip em out sell em and put in some koni, tein or hks adjustables.

Well story so far,

Skyzer doesn't have shockies as through old ones out

gtstvspec has them *sweeet!* but no rubber bushes for em

Ken has coilovers.....

Drum roll......... It loooks like GtrKen is the winner and gets the prize of an annoying Dan (25GTT) Pm'ing him in the near future for details and an endless amount of thanks and praise :-)

Just spoke to Brett @ Wilkinson suspension and had no luck he said they are unrepairable.

WA suspension said that they have a guy in eastern states that can fix em... so might give them ago!

P.S. Ken trying to find pic... not having much luck.... am camera shy tehehehe:D

OK so no luck with the coil oveers from the 32.... gtst vspec i recall you saying that you have the shock absorbers but no rubber bushes? Are rubber bushes easy to come by or expensive? I have no idea when it comes to suspension either!

If i got a rubber bush from one car would it fit in another? If i am just taking the coilover part of my car out is there a way to keep the rubber bush with the car?

Anyone else out there in internet land have any stock 33 shockies for liddle ole me to borrow?:D Sorry for all the questions guys... car is going in on monday.....
