Skyline Alternatives: Which Car Would You Buy?

The government has just banned all Skylines, but as part of their Buyback Scheme have offered you $50K to let them melt down your 'line into VB tinnies.

You need new wheels. You absolutely loathe anything with 4 cylinders (except interesting Euro stuff like Lotuses). FWD is for Kias and AWD is for sissies. You only have to transport 2 people at the most. What do you go out and buy?

Have to say in such a scenario the 350Z would have to be my choise... although that lotus is very tempting... just not practical.

BMW M3 E36 - Too old looking (boxy)

Ford Falcon XR6 Turbo + mods / FPV Typhoon - Too "family car"

HSV Clubsport / Coupe + frontal lobotomy - See above

Lotus Elise (K-series) - Too impractical

Mazda RX-7 Series 8 - My first choice

Nissan 350Z Z33 Track - Prefer the convertible though. My third choice.

Porsche 928 S4 (V8) - Too old

Toyota Supra 2JZ TT - My second choice

Toyota Soarer 1JZ T + mods - Too long and big. Handles like a boat.

M3 for me! I'm an old skool fan of the E36. Looks, who cares. It handles great from memory and that 6 cylinder is a awesome.

Elise would come in 2nd.
