thanks for all the input ppl.much appreciated. just thought id ask while im here about head work an an RB25. would it be worth it while the motors cracked open to do a bit of head work. once again open to all suggestions and comments

So cams got you an extra 10kw... $100 per kw, not bad at all

I'm sure it would've done something else as well, like improve the drive in some way or another?

Forget about the 10 rwkw increase in max power . We found 25+ rwkw at some points in the rpm range. B) The average power increase over the useable rpm range was 22 rwkw, because the useable rpm range was extended by the Poncams.

Putting the cams in doesn't involve taking the head off so no don't worry about head work.

Putting in the cams takes how long? DIY job or better to go to a workshop? Question is irrelevant to me but thought I'd ask anyway

Cams is more generally a workshop job as there are a few things to know before attempting it at home. More than one person has snapped a cam shaft by tightening it up wrong.

At what power do the poncams 260 start to cause a restriction? Head will be ported, heavy duty valve springs, guides etc rb30 botoom end...
