Only a week and a bit to go until the first SAU Vic Motorkhana round at DECA.

If you aren't competing but are still keen to be involved - come up and join my hardcore team of event officials. We need starters, timers, gate and car marshalls. It's an honorable profession - and lots of fun.

You need to be at DECA in Shepparton at 8.15am on Saturday morning, where you will be briefed by Snowy as to what needs to be done. We supply you with everything - including radios, fluro raver vest - and a complimentary lunch. You even get a free Lada ride to your official station!

You could even show up looking foolish in a national magazine - who could possibly want more!

The event can't go ahead without officials - so to all those who are keen to help, you have my gratitute in advance

ALL Volunteers get a free lunch, obviously no abusing it and walking off with 50 cans of coke

But yeah, free lunch for those who give thier time, we give you something

The events we are running this time are really cool (I know because we tested them).

Especially the battles - they are great. It's going to be tops viewing as well as driving.

To those considering being a DECA official it's a great way to meet everyone in the club and also chat to drivers for each of the events. The work itself is very easy and a chance to experience some motorsport and crazy skidpan action directly in front of you.

I did the starting for the short wang in December and it was awsome, a stack load of fun plus you get to watch all the cars unleash fury when they launch

I'll be there, just can't guarantee 8:15am startability (I'm getting old, and I can't keep up with you young'ns all night Friday night either).

Just want to say a HUGE thanks to all the officials who helped at DECA the other week.

This probably is a bit belated - but it's helping me own every thread on the page.
