Hi guys,

I have an rb20 gearbox I need to change the bellhousing over to a different type for a conversion I am doing.

I can't get the damn thing off.

I've taken the main bolts that go thru the adapter plate into the bellhousing, then I also removed the front cover and circlip from the inside of the bellhousing....I would have thought the whole housing would slip over the gears and shaft.

Any help would be great, I was hoping I could remove the bellhousing without taking the back gear case off with the shifter.

Thanks

Chris

I dropped mine. :(

Did the trick. lol

EDIT: Required several drops.

you need to remove the thrust bearing retaining plate.

behind that there is 2 bearings.

you need to remove the circlip that goes on the big one. a piston ring expander is a goot tool for it. or a flat circlip plier.

hope that helps

im asuming its for a ca18. make sure you use the circlip of the ca18 one

also check if the smaller bearing (counter shaft) is the same size.

ihad the same issues with my fj20 box delemers. 12 in total
