Hello,

I currently own a silvia, but was thinking about buying an 4 door R32 skyline with the intention of doing an rb25det conversion (i have my reasons for going after the 4 door version too). I am familiar with converting silvias to rb20, as i have done one conversion before with a mate, and am hoping that this conversion is close to the same complexity (hopefully easier!). :D

(incase people are anything like they are on ns.com, yes i have searched already!)

What i would like to know is the following:

1. Is the engine a straight drop onto the r32 cross-member or is the r33 cross-member utilised or do people just customise the mounts?

2. Drive shaft and lsd - is it possible to re-use the r32 drive shaft with the rb25 gearbox or are they different lengths, different yokes etc....?

3. Do brakes need to be upgraded in order for the car to pass engineering and be road worthy (in NSW)?

4. Any dramas with power-steering lines or pumps etc...? (not to concerned with the a/c)

5. Are there any other dramas that i have missed or that i should know about... i.e. im guessing the rb20 dump pipe wont be able to be re-used etc...?

Thanks for your help in advance,

Lucius.

Do another search, seriously there's a 25 into 32 post atleast once a month. But seeing as it's a friday and i'm bored at work:

1) Use the rb20 engine mounts on the rb25 with rb20 crossmember

2) R32 driveshaft can be used but needs to be shortened and a new yoke and uni's installed to fit up to the 25 box

3) A brake upgrade is a good idea as the 33 has bigger brakes. rears are the same.

4) Use the r32 power steering pump and bracket to avoid hassles with the lines

5) Yes. (search :D) rb20 dump fits.

did i mention search? There's a bit more to it than you think, but it's not particularly difficult. Wiring is the fun one.

*r32 crossmember should be fine as are used to put both rb20's and rb25's in s13's

*tail shaft will be a different length, as the rb20 and rb25 gearboxes are different lengths.

* dont see a problem with using the rb20 dump pipe as the turbo/dump flanges are the same on rb20 and rb25
