Gav,

I'd say the numbers would be higher for the R32 and R33.

I mean You, Rhino, GTRKen, Micko, VspecII, ND4SPD, Fabian have 32's, and that's just on this forum.... ;)

I have an R33, I know of another Purple one, a silver one with VSPEC plates, there is big red and lumpy's race car at CRed, there is a black one that hangs around Vic Park..

But you very rarely see them advertised for sale, I can't remember the last time I saw one in the paper...

On another note, if anyone is looking at a white R33 GTR at a caryard in Cannington, or a 97 one from a place in Maddington pm me, you might be interested with the info I have....

Brett

There are not enough GTR's, but most of us can't afford them. I think the number would surprise you, I see at least a couple new ones each week, so I think the number of R32 and R33's is more like triple those figures.

Gtrken alone has brought in 3 recently.

See'ya:burnout:

id say theres a few more gav prb say around 50+ 32's

70+ 33's

and I can only think of 7 34's

id think goind around the traps and id say theres a heap more 33's around on perth roads than 32's but hey thats me

I would like to see a heap more out on the cruises and maybe on the late night drag scene (especially when my mods will be done soon) yes unfortunately there quite expensive to buy even to repair and insure

but R's are are a lot of fun. If driven how there meant to be THRASHN IT

Gav, Vspec32, Fabian,

There is a cruise on this sunday (23rd) down to Dandelup dam near mandurah. Looks like a big turnout, check the events for full details. Meet at Carousel at 10am and leave from there... Would be nice to have half a dozen GTR's in the field for a change...

thanks brett love too go but I'm finally putting the engine back togeather this week wont be done in time and tuned and so on BUGGER. Shame really because my R loves to be opened up on long stretches

anyways did you or do you still work at the canningvale tavern by any chance used to see a 33gtst over the road from work thats all

Fabian,

Yeah dude I still work there. Don't take the R there that much as I'm living in East Perth and the girlfriends car is cheaper to run...

Sounds like the R will have a lot more balls once it's back together. You'll have to let me know what you are doing, I'm still exploring my options in regards to mods.. PM me if you'd prefer..

Cheers

Brett

Thanks for letting us know. Unfortunately I won't be able to make it to this one. After driving down to Margarets last weekend, we're pretty much over driving distances for a little bit - especially with the amount of fuel that the 'R goes through. Will keep an eye on the events section for the next one. BTW, should able to keep up soon if I manage to get the Apexi setup I'm wanting (PFC, HC & BC).

Cheers

Brendan

    • Hi all, Restoring r33 series 1 rb25det. All the heater hoses were on their way out, have replaced them and put it all back together. After testing I noticed a small leak from behind the head on the actual metal water line to the turbo when cars warm. I tried running a longer hose over it but it kept leaking...   I am about to take the (stock) manifold off again😔 to change the water line does any one have any lines they recommend? I was looking at Aeroflow Turbo Oil & Water Line Set but not sure what everyone else recommends. Car is completely stock but want to upgrade turbo eventually. it looks like ill have to disconnect a lot just to replace these lines so if there's anything else recommended to do please let me know. Thank you in advance!
    • From memory, on the R33 GTSt at least, while everyone says "It's not adjustable", I found when I changed clutches in mine, it just needed a small adjustment on the rod length. But be very wary here, as you could end up trying to push the pushrod in the master too far, or blowing out the slave.   Most likely though, if the master/slave isn't bypassing internally or leaking out, then the throw out is the wrong height compared to the fingers on the clutch, so when it moves to disengage the clutch, it isn't 100% disengaged. You can check part of this out too by jacking the car up, having the engine running, put your foot on the clutch and try to engage 1st gear. If it goes in pretty easy (Compared to the ground) and/or the wheels start turning a fair bit and it takes a bit too much brake pedal to bring them back to a stop, this is likely the issue.  I'm not sure if you can adjust the height of the forks etc in these though, it's been that long since I've touched any RB gearbox.
    • That's all good, I thought I was missing some interesting feature! Maybe @PranK can double check if that is something that is meant to be operating or not.
    • I hope that is not something that bad. From what i remember he said that only first gear is "hard" to get in and that he has couple of ideas what to try next but idk 😕  hope it is not gearbox out. I will let you know.
    • If it's not the hydraulics, it is probably gearbox back out. Usually as per @Duncan's post, or otherwise associated with not getting the throwout fork positioned correctly. All the way up to catastrophically bolting shit back together without it being aligned properly and wrecking the clutch/input shaft/flywheel/something else.
