Been in Japan since 1993. Lived here on-and off from 1996 to 2000 (during the time I was at uni in London) and permanently again from mid 2000. Lived in Tokyo then in Mito (Ibaraki-ken) and now back in Tokyo. I work as a car journalist and photographer and I'll be here for quite a bit

hey all.

I`ve been in Japan almost 2.5 months (newbie). Came over to check out the culture and see the country. Got interests in Anime and hopin to take an R34 GTR home with me.

Was working in a cafe/bar in Roppongi. Just landed a job teaching English (one year contract) in Maizuru (tiny country town), but its ok so far (first week).

Was almost gonna head home, but the pay was too good to pass up. and rents damn cheap out here (for Japan).

If any other members know or have access to any good auctions I`d appreciate the help, also if anyone wants to catch up or go for a drive i`m always up for it.

See ya.

Just moved to a place in Itabashi-ku, Tokyo this week.

Plan to look for some IT work and stay for about a year or so (if i can find work) and hopefully improve my Japanese skills. Was actually born in Osaka, but left Japan at age 3 so my Japanese is pretty bad...

Probably should've sold my skyline b4 coming over here, but just couldn't do it, so it's probably rusting away back in Melbourne. Don't really know anyone in Tokyo yet, so wouldn't mind catching up with any of u guys in tokyo if u ever feel bored...

The meaning of the word "use" would be a start, but please quit whoring the japan resident thread. I'm sure we all have 'interesting' anecdotes to share but perhaps they will be better shared somewhere else.

EDIT: Thanks Richard, I hope no one will mind me cleaning up the off topic posts in this thread then? Ok, done. - Rezz

For anyone in Tokyo. A bunch of us foreigners usually meet up at the Daikoku PA every 2nd Wed of the month. If you fancy a chat with a bunch of car-crazy gaijins feel free to drop by. It will be pretty easy to spot us...just look for a group of lanky foreigners >_<

I came here (f*kuyama, half way between Okayama and Hiroshima) in June 2005 to work with Nova. But my morals took over and I quit (after they told me to choose between my fiance (a student) and my job). Then I started work with a company only teaching kids - soooo much fun!

Theres not much of a car scene here in f*kuyama so I've travelled Japan to see Super GT rounds, R31House, Tokyo Auto Salon, Rally Japan, Nismo Fest, and more.

Sadly, im leaving for Melbourne tomorrow (back home). But this will always be a second home because of my marriage to a Japanese woman.;)
