Been going to Japan on and off from 1985, Started up Japanese Motorsport and still continue to supply companies in Australia with Parts, Cars, trucks, etc. Now based in Adelaide I still travel back to Amagasaki (inbetween Kobe and Osaka) for a month, every 2 months.

I've been living, building cars, and racing in Japan for over 15 years now. I'm currently living in Tsuyama (Okayama-ken) but I will probably only be here for a couple more years as I plan on making the move to Hiroshima. Currently I'm wrapping up work as a Senior Network Security Specialist to focus on my exporting business.

Ghost Dancer, i'm in Okayama city mate. u ever head up to okayama int. circuit? theres also a local circuit near niimi where my mechanic takes me to watch him drift.

Im here alright, in smoggy old Tokyo. been here 2 years, got married in July ( goes back to when i was still in australia ), worked for Gaba for a year, sued them for screwing me over, won that then promptly landed a job with a university. Loving this work..it even gives me time to do this stuff, plus i get paid 6k an hour..

looking to negotiate my contract for next year..we'll see how that goes but im guessing another 5 to 7 years.

came to Japan for too many reasons to count..drift, F1, the car scene..all hot, hot , HOT.

im over australia, too much grief. Japan is where ive grown a ton.

saw F1 at suzuka twice, met schumacher and alonso, ( got the photos if you need proof! alonso signed my cap, webber signed my team shirt :O ), me and poida went drifting at bigx in 2005 with team orange...( damn hiroshi's mark 2 was tough ..you shouldve seen poidas face when i scored the ride first and he thought he wasnt going to be able to go too! priceless. he was mortified ), been to a stack of other events..the usual. Got a mate with a bonafide, legit 4 door Autech version R33...that thing hauled ass. Ill post some pics of that...still trying to get him around to letting me drive it..

all this stuff has been great BUT..

i STILL dont have my Fuggin GTR!!!:P

#sigh#...

    • You don't need an AC mechanic to fit it. You do need one to vac the system down and fill it. That's how you get refrigerant.
    • Well, it's actually probably worse than you think. I think you have to (minimally) install GKTech's spherical bush replacements to the lower arm's inner ends, because you absolutely cannot subject the original (or poly) bushes to that much misalignment. The better option being to replace the whole lower arm with GKTech's unit. This brings sphericals to the lower inners either way you do it. And are you aware that the kit is weld in and you have to take the subframe out of the car to get it fitted? It's a fair bit of work. These issues both drive my ongoing dithering about doing this to my car, for the last couple of years.
    • The website said you need a AC technican to swap it in. Is that true? How did you fill the refridgerant? Was it easy to install?  If i just got the bracket and the new smaller AC compressor, would the other components be compatible with R134?
    • Hi All Finally getting back to work on the R32 this weekend and had a quick question about the GKTech anti squat kit (https://au.gktech.com/products/s13-180sx-r32-subframe-anti-squat-reduction-weld-in-kit?_pos=39&_fid=eb6b5077e&_ss=c) So, this straightens out the rear LCA and increases the roll centre by 20MM which is great BUT I also have MFR roll centre adjusters (https://www.rhdjapan.com/moonface-super-lap-rc-joint-roll-center-adjuster-bnr32-ps13-rps13.html) which gives a +15MM lift. My question is whether they can/should be used together or if its going to massively effect the geometry? In my mind, I can't see that they work together but was hoping for some feedback on someone who has done this before deciding which to use or if both?   Thanks
    • Agreed. Thing has to be running absolutely pig rich as well. I would worry a lot less about your idle and start going through all your electrical before the car burns down.
