Just wondering what fuel values you guys are running in your PFC for light load stuff

I am trying to get some economy back into my car, it seems after a fuel pump swap last year my fuel ecomomy has been quite shithouse

never really took much notice, but after filling up last night and doing the sums my car is using almost 15L per 100kms

The O2 sensor is functioning correctly, and the closed loop setting is turned on

It seems most of my fuel was being consumed while getting up to speed, when its not running closed loop.

A quick check of my fuel values showed that at WOT, my fuel values are between 105-110-114 up the top end

Mid-range and cruise load points showed it was around 114-120, which is more than what it uses at full noise. These where never changed after a pump swap

My understanding is that you have to be 'near the mark' with your fuel values for the closed loop mode to function correctly

Any feedback would be grateful,

Chris

15l/100kms is not bad for a tuned car making nearly 200rwkw. a lot of the consumption depends on how and where you are driving. if it makes you feel better my GTR uses 22/100 (mix of city and freeway) and even my non turbo, stock V8 soarer burns 18/100 (all city drving though). if you are going to try leaning it out, i would be doing it on the dyno.

Geez, your GTR is very thirsty!

Before the pump swap, I'd get 400kms out of a tank. Mostly commuting to anf from work

I am lucky to get 340kms now, and the only thing chaged is the pump!

So how does the PFC closed loop system work? Will it work even if the fuel values are way off? Or do they have to be close enough for it to make minor adjustments

Allot of the meduim load/coming onto boost tuning was done with the 0/2 feedback switched off, light load wasn't touched though from what I can see

How does injector lag time effect fuel consumption?

i've got a r32 with pfc, however i don't have gtr injectors (i actually have 650cc sards)

but i get 400km per tank driving to work and back which is moderate traffic ~45minutes to cover 30 km with some freeway stuff thrown in and sensible right foot

used to get about 440km per tank before the pfc/injectors/new turbo

Yeah I get 15-16 L/100kms in city driving but on the freeway I can get 11L/100kms

I had my PFC retuned to get some better economy but they are just thirsty beasts I think.

It depends on how it is tuned too I think my car is nearly always on boost with the cam gear setup it has, so low down punch is excellent.

I think my previous tune was very rich to compensate for a poor fuel pump so when I replaced it the car ran quite rich with the extra scope of the pump. maybe this is whats goin on with yours?

let us know what happens.

    • For a daily just run Akebono ceramic pads. That's what they're optimized for. Obviously don't try to run it on track or anything like that.
    • Hey all, I'm sorry if this has been discussed before.  I have a 2008 Japanese import V36 coupe with nav but without Bose. I bought one of those AliExpress android screens, which for the most part works really well.  The only thing that doesn't work is the air con controls (well sort of) and the factory reverse camera.  The AC can be controlled fine but it doesn't report the change in temp and mode to the screen, and the volume knob/other audio controls from the panel don't register on the learning app.  I am pretty certain that the problem is the difference in the head unit between base model (Nav but no Bose) 2007-2009 coupes and anything after 2009.  Mine is the one with the blue connector all the way to the right as seen in this forum post:  The reason I think this is there is one wire left over that doesn't fit anywhere on this head unit, or in the factory screen which also uses different connectors to more recent versions.  I've seen the upgrade from OWC, and have sent the guy a message on eBay but no response yet.  I also don't particularly need the whole kit, just *maybe* an adapter for this one cable.  Did anyone else here have the same problem, or have any insight about what I can do to get this working?  I have been in contact with the seller but all they seem to be able to do is ask for more pictures and videos. Minor edit to add:  I have been researching and found a screen on Aliexpress that actually specifies my head unit in the listing, so these things do exist.  I will contact the seller to see if the wiring adapters are interchangeable with other screens.   Thanks in advance!
