Enrico - when you get your R33 come on one of the cruises ( we have them all the time, check SA forum section) & invite your mate with the S2000.Should be fun.

There are only a handfull of 350Zs in Adelaide & the one he raced

probably wasn't run in yet!

I checked one out yesterday at Main North Nissan - mmmmn -

they are different.Pity they are atmo. Door handles are weird!!

S2000 looks much better in my opinion.

For 60K+ I think a good R33 GTR is a much better buy - but of course some people shy away from turbo imported cars for insurance reasons.

BTW - I am selling my Honda S2000 (3 months old) for $72,000.

I have found another car that suits my driving style much better -

a new EVO VII.This thing is so much fun to drive. You can chuck it around like a go-kart & it pulls like a train from 3 - 7000rpm.

Also it can take more than one passenger, has 4 doors (first sedan I've had in years), & has a thrash factor of 10.All the electronic gizmos have saved me a couple of times already & it's only got 1200 kays on it.Came with a carbon fibre bonnet, CPU power upgrade, & full HKS exhaust ( I fitted straight away).Checked the boost reading yesterday & it's making

18 psi std!!!Should be making around 240kw at engine.

The R34 GTR is a ' whole nother level of badness ' & feels more powerful & more firmly planted on the road(it should at 1650 kg!)

but the EVO7 is fun,fun ,fun to drive & has really impressed me.

Martin wants to do a photoshoot on Friday with the EVO7 vs a new WRX STI.Should be fun.I hope I waste it.'scuse me but I've never liked scoobys. The EVO has a single TD05 turbo - maybe I should quickly borrow one of Keir's TD06s just for the occasion.

I'd wait and see just how well sorted the R33 is before you go telling your mate you'll kick his ass. You might need to fix a few things up before it runs well.

It's better to say ' I reckon you'll probably just beat me' and then kick his ass bad. (Saves the friendship and makes the winning an underdog thing).Than to say ' I'm going to wipe you out man!' and lose because the thing missfired'.

man im very modest

I havent said nething about ill kick ur ass etc.

Munro

Yeh ill be on a cruise when i get my car. I think it would be too slow thou compared to what ur used to.

Also how is it that almost every post u do, u tend to be selling something. hehehe j/k

Cya

Yeah, funny that.I suppose with the amount of **** I buy, occasionally I need to sell something!

There are lots of other stockie GTSt Skylines that come on cruises.

You wont get left behind - although some of the chicks here certainly like to put their foot down so lookout.

The 350z should of lunched the S2, i've driven a few S2000's, including the latest update model, which has close to 180kw's, but in a straight line, they're not that quick off the mark. The top end is great, and that's where all the power is produced.

A lightly modded 33 should kill it off the mark and in a straight line, put it on a track with a good driver though, and it'd be a different story.

And munro, the new s2's are only about 68,000 i believe, so good luck getting 72,000 for it bud.

hahahah, ah....

anyways, whilst u'r looking at this thread, have u driven an Audi S3 Munro? if u have, any thoughts on it. I've known OF them, but not known ABOUT them, so i've kinda get some info on them. Sound like a pretty well rounded package.

S3 have any chance against a R33 or S2000?? (attempt to bring it back to the thread :()

The S2000 is about $75000 brand new. It's got 176kW and 208Nm. How much torque does the Skyline have? Also, the 0-100 of an S2000 is 6.2 secs which is awesome for a 2 litre N/A don't you think?

The S3 has 165kW and 280Nm and is claimed at 6.6 secs I think. I personally like the S2000s, they look pretty flash in black with red leather :D

I've been in an S3..

The owner had done a chip mod (from the TT roadster) and a pod filter..

I have to say..

there was 4 of us in the car and this thing was pretty damn quick.

It was very VERY responsive as well.

I belive that with the chip, the power goes up to about 180kw or something like that.. and the torque gets a good whack as well.

Apparently they run TWIN air to air intercoolers.. Weird..

No. I dont know anything about Audis.I've read about the RS6 -

now thats a cool bit of gear.German cars are great.

The last 2 posts are interesting.

My Honda is blue with black leather - will miss it when it's gone.

Yeah i think i read on the audi site that the S3 or S4 comes onto full boost at like 1500rpm? they did say that were running smallish turbo's, but still, that's pretty cool. So i guess it would be very responsive then. I was just thinking about getting one, over a GT-T. I know the GT-T would whoop it's ass but quattro system and small size, quite fun in my opinion.

yeah, german cars kick ass!! except for some reason i've always hated mercs, cos i reckon they look sh*t. But now, they have some awesome looking ones, the new E class and SL500? and the is it the 2 door version of the E class? twin exhaust? don't like the oldish CLK's. And read about some new mercs, some crazy twin turbo jobs, 360kw's or something like that. Ouch!! ;)

personally, can't wait for the new M5 and i really, REALLY wished that they'd make a RHD Z8, it is THE coolest BWM, my fav of them all.

and for those interested, check these figures out

294kw 5ltr V8 (Prob not 5ltr, prob 4.8 or whateva the M5 is, could be 5 tho)

500nm Torque

0 - 100 in 4.7 seconds

now that's a V8 car i will drive thanks!

Yep.they are pretty cool.I sat in one BMW had here in adelaide a while back.(it was black with cream interior) They cannot be complianced in australia but were brought in for show.I think they

had lots of problems with them in europe. For less money the new Maserati Spyder is pretty stylish & goes really well.I drove one late last year & they sound amazing. The maser is more friendly to drive than a 355 F1 spyder & has the same paddleshift 6 speed. The only thing I didn't like was the scuttle shake over bumps. An S2000 doesn't do this(probably due to the Xbone chassis) & costs roughly 1/3 of the Maserati!

Be interesting to see the new M3 convertible when it arrives.

It has a true 50/50 weight distribution & is very well

Actually, most RWD skylines have nearly 50/50 weight distribution,

About 53/47 from memory. Remember, the engine and gearbox do sit quite far back when compared to your run of the mill fwd cars.

Well for a tight mountain run I'd be taking an S2000 over an R33 at the drop of a hat. Straight line, well obviously an n/a 2L isnt going to take down a 33 unless its in a caterham or a bike.

Munro - was that your EVO VII that was put up against a stock yellow one in a magazine article?

    • I believe mine is helical and not clutch type. During drifting one wheel was spining as if it was open diff so bought kazz 1.5 way and has sat on my shelf for the past 5 years as I want to learn shiming process and do it myself   in meantime thought I change the diff oil hence post here. So any 75-90?   i am pretty sure r34 are helical not clutch lsd as standard . That is gtt ones
    • Throw between gears are so much that is getting annoying. I have pro short shifter on my mx5 and e36 and love it . Skyline is getting unbearable    would syncro issues and short shifter is no no? Anyone mind explaining a little on why before i buy cube
    • No. Well, some people "seem to use redline shockproof in the diff". Most do not. I would only contemplate it if you have badly worn CW&P gears. And no. No-one in their right mind has ever put ATF into a diff. Any normal diff/gear oil of the right viscosity will do. Whatever takes your fancy. Castrol, Nulon, Penrite, Redline MT range. Whatever. It's just gears. 75W-90 or 80W-90 is typical. I think that GL-5 is hard to avoid these days, although I think that a GL-4 is probably preferred, given the vintage of the equipment. At least Redline offer a number of GL-4 oils. If you have a clutch type LSD instead of the VLSD, then of course you need a proper LSD oil. Anything from any of the same names above. If you have a helical LSD, then it does not require LSD oil, and the recco is the same as for the VLSD. You don't want the LSD friction modifiers in the oil for a non-clutch type LSD if you can avoid it.
    • You may want to list it up for a little higher - This price is much lower than you may realize. Here you're pretty much selling to people who most likely already have these things on their own rigs. S chassis people eat this stuff up like you'd not believe.
    • I had my car for over 10 years and done around few thousand miles but never changed the oil. thinking of changing it.   what brand and viscocity would you put in ? people seem to use redline shockproof in the diff   on  contraty seen others using atf dexron 2 or 3 so wanted to check. is it 1 liter?
