-wouldnt a front diff and a rb25 single turbo give it away faily easy ?

I don't know how you'd spot the front diff on the road seeing as its nestled nicely in the oil sum under the engine.

Things to look for would be 4 wheels spinning when taking off and the torque split in the cluster. R33 GTS4's are all N/A and R32 GTS4's were all turbo. I guess to a certain extent if you check out the wear on the wheels of a GTS4 it should be more evenly worn (theoretically that is, ATTESA however isn't fulltime AWD though) also compared to a GTSt, GTS4's tend not to oversteer as much.

oh you mean out on the street driving , not inspection. as in mock ups etc !

i could be a smarty and say not 4 wheels spinning on take off but a combo of 2 rear and 1 front alternating but as you can see i didnt even get the engine right ... :) so i will shut up and say thanks.... i leaned something

If you destroy a motor in a GTS-4, do you have to replace it with another motor from a GTS-4?

its easier and cheaper to... noone has a use for AWD RB20DET's :P as they only fit AWD R32's, A31's and C33's. If its just a damaged head you can replace it with a GTSt head. I think the block might need modification to fit. Oil sump and front diff need to be swapped for sure, or you could use a GTR one (grab one off someone who's putting an RB26DETT into a RWD car for cheap).

I believe you just have to pull the 4WD fuse out on the R32s.

or wire up a switch to the fuse and have a "slide beyotch/grip beyotch" toggle switch in the cabin :P

So you reckon GTS-4 motors are cheaper than normal RB20's?

should be. I mean, if you had a R32 GTS4 wreck and no one wanted to buy the engine, you'd sell it cheaper so someone took it right? Cars that AWD RB20DE's feature in, in general are rustheaps (as most of them were used in snowy areas in japan... hence the need for AWD) so its not like there's any shortage of spare engines.

And if you can't find an RB20DET, then put an RB26DETT in, or an RB25DET out of a stagea (which is pretty tricky, but doable).

Is it easy to turn the front wheels off?

You can also just flick the ingition off and on while rolling (faster than 5km or so). disable the ABS and 4wd (same as fuse)

Then its the same as a front heavy gtst...

Don't get me wrong... its not easy, an RB26DETT swap is easier I reckon.
RB25DET simply bolts straight in. And everything mechanical connects up. At least you don't need a new exhaust and intake setup.

Either engine, you need to re-loom and re-ECU it.
