i suggest u keep ur qld licence as u will have to go through 3 yrs of p's in vic, p/w ratio laws n other bs otherwise

if you dont tell them they wont know as long as your mail is forwarded to you from qld, legally you have 3 mths to change your address and therefore your licience, if you dont get pulled over twice by the same cop in that time you should be ok.

You'll find what you need to know at VicRoads info for interstate drivers

if you dont get pulled over twice by the same cop in that time you should be ok.

Police have this amazing thing called technology.

They use it to keep a record of licence & vehicle checks.

The first time you get pulled over, licence details will be taken.

They will ask for your address.

They will ask how long you've been in the state.

Regardless of who pulls you over next, they will have all the details of your previous contact.

You can drive anywhere you like for as long as you like but you must live in QLD .

If you move to another state to live you must get a licence there as soon as practicable but within 3 months .

Nothing to stop you working in VIC and living in QLD for as long as you like !!

well im probably going to be living on base in victoria so that probably mean im living there im not sure. Someone told me the situation may be different cause im with the military and i have to move around alot neways and i wont have to abide by the power to weight law either. Not sure if this is true or not.

what I meant by that post was if your address is in qld and they pull you over in vic they are none the wiser where you live because your licence says you live in qld, but if the same cop does it he may click to it, BUT he has to prove that you live there and not just visiting twice, its a case of how much you push the limits and how much they notice you, I know that when I was in the Army the cops let it slide as they tend to support the armed forces. (or whatever as I dont know what cops think)

the cops cannot really do anything. u're allowed to drive around with your licence for 3months. say u go bak to qld for a holiday or something(within the 3months), the current 3 months defaults and starts over again. it makes sence coz for e.g. u might have cousins living in Vic and visit them every christmas or something. for the cops to accumulate/note down the amount of time u've spent in Vic is crazy. u dont live there and shouldnt have to change ya licence, rego over etc.

    • G'day all, I have drilled and tapped the hole for the relocation of the timing belt tensioner. That was straight forward. I'm unsure if I need to also put another hole for the smaller stud that the spring behind the tensioner catches on (this is how it seems to work in its original spot). Or do you not use the spring behind it and just torque it down? Thanks in advance, I did a search but couldn't find anything related and it doesn't mention it in the rb30det sau guide.
    • Hi All,  just thought I would provide an update as I know smooth (Matt) was on this forum from 2003.    my brother Matthew passed away end of may 2024 at the age of 41 from liver failure. I am not sure how many of his original team krazy friends are still on here or active but thought it reasonable to let the forum know.    if you have any photos or pictures it would be great if you could share them.    it took me a while to work out he was active on here.    thanks so much

    • 😜 hopefully we get this instead of a new R36 GTR due to recent financial problems at Nissan. Nismo to sell a complete kit with RB26 and driveline. All starts making sense (ok maybe not) once the Nissan Leaf's (Leaves?) with stuffed EV motors/batteries hit the market cheap
