I didnt say it didnt make any difference it made a diiference but not as much as everybody talk here....I had a full bell mouth dump pipe and 3.5inch system but i actually chucked it on the dyno today and found out its only a 4KW gain. This was done in a one of the best work shops in melbourne and everything was done properly.SO PROVED NOTHING WRONG WITH THE CAR OR THE EXHAUST SYSTEM.

My thoughts would be because you had a 3.5 inch dump pipe before is the reason why you didn't get as much gain as the 3" dump pipes. The 3 inch being a little more restrictive thus it would cause more turbulence when the gases colide. The 3.5 being bigger won't cause as much turbulence. If someone had a 4 of 5 inch dump probably won't notice a difference at all. It all about removing the turbulence behind the turbo. Anyone else can comment on this theory? seems ligical to me

From what ive read yes your idea is 110% correct, its about keeping the exhaust gas's and wastegaste gas's away from each other for aslong as possible in the system to reduce the turbulence and increase the efficency, having a bigger dump would mean that the gases aren't fighting each other quiet as much as in a small one to rush down the same pipe in a similar direction ;)
