bonnets are meant to crumple when you hit a pedestrian or crash, this makes it safer for you and the pedestrian. if the bonnet doesnt crumple it can go straight through your windscreen and take your head off. bonnet pins would probably be illegal because they'd prevent the bonnet crumpling properly.

Does anyone know the rules with "interstate" regulations.

E.g. my car is registered in Vic, but i spend a fair bit of time in NSW and QLD with the car. If i get defected whilst in NSW or QLD does it have to be cleared in that state? or do i just get it done when i go back to vic? and which states rules does it need to comply with?
