Hey what is the average RB25DET getting for fuel economy?

I have a RB20DET and i am concidering the engin swap to the RB25.

I don't want to kill myself with fuel tho.. on average i will drive 1000km/week

in my RB20det it will cost me about $110-$130 Canadian per week. depending on my foot and how much i boost it!

I think that i am at about 13L/100kms or about 23MPG

After a tune I noticed no difference in fuel economy going from my rb20det to the rb30det.

Depending on how the car is driven I can get as low as 10.6L/100km's, ~470km's from full until the red light for local 50-60km/h driving. I don't drive in peak hour so no doubt fuel usage will rise if I were to.

Prior with dirty injectors, old o2 sensor and no tune (pfc base map) I was getting as low as 14L/100km's. At first with the dirty injectors I replaced the o2 sensor.. Did nothing, replaced injectors perfect. :D

Please do a search.. Remember to select to 'search any date' from drop down selection box.

Hi mate...

I've just rebuilt my RB25DET with some forgies, etc.. basically strengthened the motor for max boost... I high flowed the turbo but everything else (Ecu) is standard. Depending on how I drive.. I will get anywhere from 380 - 430 km out of a full tank.... It runs fine but I reckon if I got it tuned, I'd prob get about 450kms out of a full tank..

I was getting the same as u with the new injectors, new o2 sensor but untuned pfc with the rb30det. :(

Displacement doesn't appear to make a big difference from 2-2.5-3ltrs..

a little while ago i cleaned my AFM and fuel consumption is now great!

i can get 600+ km to a tank running 10 psi.

10L/100 kms is quite a good stretch of the fuel

before i cleaned the AFM i was struggling to get 500km / tank

air flow meter. Its on the air intake, tubular thing just connected to the airbox or pod filter depending on what u have. Will have wiring and a connector on it.

You can spray out the inside with circuit board cleaner or something, but be careful with it cause u can damage it and you'll then have to buy a new one.
