Power Window Troubles

hey guys,

last night my passenger window decided at random it didnt wanna go up anymore

was working fine all night, till i went to put it up when i got home and it wouldnt go up, im thinkin maybe the electrical clip may have come undone at some stage? just a long shot but i dont know what else it could be until i get it checked by an auto elec on monday

anyone have any ideas as to what it may be?

i've got the same problem with mine.

auto elect has told me the whole master unit needs to be replaced.

hmmm so i was jst informed, its more than likely the motor for it on that side than anything else. coz if it was the master unit.... neither the passenger or drivers side would work. but drivers side is working fine.

after testing it out with a battery. only the switch * phew *

Has anyone got a part number on the drivers side door switch assembly?

I am interested to see if you can actually buy the unit on less than a normal mans weeks wages through nissan

my drivers side window would only work when it felt like it

was just dry solder

cost all of 20 bux to have it resoldered, been good since

You try hittting the unlock window button on your master controls on drivers side. I know it might sound stupid, but sometimes peoople hit that button and dont realise it and then cant get the window to go up thinking its broken when really its just been locked whilst in the down position.

If thats not the case pull your door trimming off and start poking around, i think the skyline windows are mechanical scissor arms not driven by plastic gears and wire pulleys like on silvias and 180's. See if everything looks ok. If your not sure open up ur drivers side and compare the two. Maybe the motor has burned out or maybe its something else.
