My guess is you don't have the divx codec installed on your pc.

Any Computer Geeks out there know why my computer wouldn't open a .avi file? I'm trying to use window media player and all I get is sound? What am I doing wrong?

Probably missing a Codec. I'm guessing its an mpeg4 codec like Xvid, try downloading ffdshow:

Don't install DivX, use FFDShow instead. It's smaller and decodes lots of other stuff.

you need to install the Xvid codec (http://download.divxmovies.com/XviD-1.1.0-30122005.exe) that should give you vid as well.

And yeah Kelly, the in car cam mount was attached to the rollcage with hose clamps :P We put a fisheye lense on it to get a better pic.

we mounted it just above and behind the passenger's head so we got the whole dash, steering wheel and front window view using the fisheye. Ideally we wanted the gearshifter as well, but then it'd have meant that there had to be no passenger. It was about 15 mins of work and $20 of materials, so we'll refine it more for next time and hopefully have it on all our cars for the day.
