Hi Everyone,

I've noticed that when i hit above 100kph and brake lightly, my steering wheel starts to shake abit. Before i got my front rotors machined it was shaking real violently. I have also noticed that my car does drift to the left quite often especially when on high speeds. All wheels have been balanced and aligned.

Has anyone experienced these symptoms in the past? any help would be great.

Cheers

Mark

hey mate, mine does the same thing, my mate reckons its cos the rotors might be warped and on their way out. And also since i got adjustable castor rods the other day my steering shakes a lot more now at around 100+km/h, but the weird thing is it seems like it depends on the surface of the road?

Maybe the castor and camber setting is too agressive? I don't get shakes or anything in my Silvia but I do notice it tends to follow the camber of the road more than it used to. It sits perfectly straight on a flat road though.

There are a bunch of bushes in your steering system that could be worn. You need to jack the car up and get in there with a tyre lever or something like that to look for any excess movement.

On the R31's the steering rack mounting bushes go on them causing a similar thing to this.
