Got it done fast? It took me 8hrs solid sitting on the couch with my laptop yesterday to do that. Thats hardly fast!

One day the club will get a massive sponsor and we'll get those tricky timing systems they use for Dutton where eveything is done automatically into a laptop and people get their times SMS'd to them instantly.

And I can spend my Sunday sleeping off the hangover.

I want to particularly congratulate Team Purple - Fern & Geoff, you really did well out there. Was great to see you give both Snows and Chris a run for their money.

Excellent work.

Golgo would be proud

 Can someone please email me the results, as these types of links don't work on my computer for some stupid reason.

Firefox downloaded it for me as some stupid ipb file or something. Renaming it to a PDF worked sweet, try that.

Not that I have any reason to look at the results ;)

You would think that in this day and age with so much electronic and computer WiFi stuff around cheap that it should not be to hard to come up with some ideas on how we could make this a reality.

Anyone like to think about this as I am sure its not too hard...

Thanks Dave!!

Looks like i was mis-informed by Sam about my time on the Long Wang ;)

Still was a great improvement from my results at the previous DECAs

In may i will be fitting my semi comps, all i need then is a less laggier turbo :)

Good work with the results snowy I wasnt expecting them till later in the week and the format is tops.

Well done to everyone elles involved. The day was a hell of a lot of fun and run profesionaly. I cant wait till the next one.

Cheers,

Adam

Guess I have to reply to my own post as no-one else looks like they are going to

OK - since asking the question, I have come up with the ANSWER!! At virtually NO COST!

Works like this -( I wont bother to patent this as it's just too obvious )

Drivers Mobile Phone (MUST be BlueTooth Enabled)

Some ones Laptop -ANY -

TurboClub Track Timer Assembly & Software - Donation to SAUVIC by TurboClub.com and City Notebook Centre - 8 Market St. Melbourne, www.CityNotebookCentre.com.au

I will say I am going off a bit half cocked -so to speak, here - but the concept seems sound and the proof is not far away - stay tuned.

Yeah i'm confused how you get the times from the cars... ?

Getting the times from a laptop with bluetooth to phones probably wouldn' tbe to hard.

I just think an automated timing system would be way too much a pain in the ass to design and get working, because you'd have a lot of angry drivers if you say 'your times didn't get recorded that session because a bug in my code cause it to crash' haha

No we used them for Dutton. They were easy. Simply had a laptop at each starting gate where the competitors number was entered then off you went.

Basically they were timing gates similar to these:

But that might be an overkill. If we can punch times directly into a laptop rather than writting them down - and people then get the results straight away that would be pretty cool.
