Are My Turbo's Dieing

Today I was driving through down (had only been in town). and suddenly when i was at a red light, some dude start calling me f**k face and f**k head, and i tuned around, and there was a big cloud of smoke coming from my car (not unlike the Seirra's blowing a turbo at bathurst). So I went over the intersection and pulled over (leaving the car running), and had a look. In the 10-15 secs I was round the back the smoke stopped coming out, and it hasn't done it since (~40km).

Now i'm guessing it's an oil seal in the turbo going, and the engine sounded and was running fine, I wouldn't have probably noticed if the friendly bogan hadn't alerted me to it. I looked under the bonnet, and the car and there was no oil marks. So does it sound like a dieing turbo?

What colour was the smoke? When I did a ceramic turbo on my rb25 it was bushfire grey...

lol what colour is bushfire gray, mine was mid gray, with a slight tinge of blue.

could be.? r they laggy? when ur in boost what colour comes out of ur exhast.. i had a gtst follow me and we wer boostin and i was told i got a heap of black smoke.. guess thats good.

in the garage sometime just rev it past 5k and see what colour comes out.?

The only time I ever get smoke, is if it's a freezing morning, and I drive that car without warming it up, and it only blows when i have to put my food down to get up a hill ~500m away from my house. On boost I get a little black smoke.

EDIT: Boost responce is still normal.

black smoke isnt bad, its a rich mixture...

If theres no other blowby around (in your cooler pipes, airbox/pods) then i'd say its an oil seal in the turbo maitee.

Yer i know black is alright. I had the airbox out last weekend, and it was very clean. I got new turbo's going in, in acouple of weeks, so dead turbo's don't bother me.
