R32 Gtr Gearbox Oil

My Dad is putting new oil in his gearbox while he has the engine out and was wondering what to use? He rang Nissan but said they were really no help.

Could anyone please let me know what he should get, he's desperate to know as he wants to put the engine back in this weekend and wants to get the gearbox oil tomorrow.

Most people swear by Redline Shockproof but it's very expensive ($100+ for 4l?). I've used Syntrax synth at $80/4l but it didn't feel as good as Valvoline Duragear which is about $35/4l. Castrol VMX 80 or Syntrans shold also be OK.

Yep used syntrans 75/85,alot smoother than standard.

i used redline on my 32 gts-t gearbox, used to be notchy shifting into 2nd and the redline oil fixed it, fantastic stuff and well worth the cost. (I used redline mt-90 but apparently most common for skylines is lightweight shockproof)

redline light weight shockproof. i'm using it in my GTR. and it's fine.
