Yeah, she does drive like a dream :)

Mechanically, she has a new engine, new gearbox and new transfer case, the tune is a safe tune, i could get more power, but mechanic said this is safe.

As for the prices at auction, it comes down to trust, if u doubt your trust in ur broker, don't use them.

They wouldn't try to rip u off, cause its fairly easy to find out the cost of a car through another broker

djw it is easy find out the cost of A car or THE car? as there are such great variations in the costing of r32 gtrs. from the very cheap to the very expensive. what have you done to your car to get that sort of power? is it your daily driver?

Car has everything modded, internals, won't go into specifics, but its running T78 turbo

From my knowledge of R32's

for Average poorish cond = $23000+

Decent one with a mod or 2 = $25,000 - $27,000

For a monster GTR $30,000+

(Landed and complied)

(also depends on the currency conversion also!!

Mate bout R32 GTR, a real clean one, with few mods and paid 30's

It really comes down to wat it is, and if there is a buyer, if there is a buyer, the price will be higher!

Mine has no accident history, the mechanical list advised possible problem with clutch, however 9/10 times its just button clutch, its running a OS Giken triple plate.

Prices do vary dependant on a day, tell me bout your car??

That's a tricky one.... My guess would be the price you bid PLUS some extra to make it to xxxFOB

I bought mine through a broker and paid xxxFOB which was the final price in Japan, that included de rego, to have it taken to the wharf, booked on the ship etc etc etc.

Ask the broker, id hope he wouldn't hide the end price cause you had paid him his fee to find you the car.

With the damage, sorry to hear that, that was the case when you saw the car after all this time.... at least the wharfie's didn't break things like they did in mine... (i wont go into that, I've finally repressed those memories) I'd fix it and have fun...... but remember it for next time you go through the process.

Cheers

hi atomic,

i think theres one thing u need to tell people ,if ur wanting info.how much does the car owe u.

if its a vspec 2 and a decent one, they can get low 40s in aust.

so i guess if u paid high 30s for ur car and it has faults,i would suggest ur broker didnt do a very good job.

but if ur car is around the 30k mark,i would say he did a good job with a good price and only minor repairs as u would expect from a 10year old car.

cant remeber if u said it was a grade 4 car,but grade 4 at 2 different auctions can mean a lot,if u have ur auction sheet.post it here so maybe we can give u some more insight.

well my car, as stated before, is a 1993 32 vspec 1 gtr. its from tokyo, so hasnt spent much time in the snow. it had an auction grade of four. no accident history. and covered just over 35000kms. all this came from the auction sheet. its a completely stock standard car except for the usual breather mods, exhaust and air filters. having a look at the car the other day, i saw that the front pipe and dump pipes are still standard as it still has the heat shielding on it. it also had the whole factory body kit, including the two vents (nostrils hehe) in the front bar, nismo side skirts rear bar pods, bootlid spoiler lip, and it also had that ight on the back where the words "SKYLINE" light up! hmmm... i wont tell you the exact price i paid for it as i dont want to start a "You got ripped off thread" but lets say i paid 40+ so i dont think i saved heaps if anything. i dont think the price i paid was the cheapest in the world as you have said you can pick up what we and the general public think are good gtrs up for around 30k mark. but looking at the cars in japanese magazines (our uniqe cars equivalent) cars of the same specifications sold well over the price i paid at auction. it was actually quite difficult to find this car. to find one that was not accident damaged was almost impossible. that was my number one priority on my criteria. on one of the days of auction, there were over 40gtrs and only 1 was not accident damaged! (that was what i was told anyway) and that was the one i bought! my broker did send me heaps of examples, but all of them had replaced panels here and there and high mileage. i wanted something as standard as possible as it is a 10 year old car. and in the end, i think standard cars are worth more than modified huge horsepower headaches. hmmm... colour.....i really wanted midnight purple (which was only offered in 1994) or that blue steel/grey. but in they were very rare and in the end colour didnt matter so much to me so long it was factory. i didnt fancy a pink gtr. i didnt care about the colour because i didnt want it to be the deciding factor. i dont want to sacrafice good mechanicals for the sake of paint. its here now. and as i have said, there are slight imperfections with it. but its ok. overall im happy. there is work to be done. but i love it just the same.

Silver-Arrowz are the AFM's difficult to clean? sounds nasty!

well i knew it was going to be more expensive than if i bought it a few months back before they announced the death of gtr in japan. the prices shot up. i went thru svi. friendly service and all. but......

hey lozz sorry to hear bout your car. hmmm... did your engine bay have any like salt crystals on the some of the metal parts?

looks like to me this car wasnt inspected personally, hence the reason a few items were missed.

this is a jaa auction, there grading isnt as strict as others.

if this was a uss tokuyo auction, may have been a grade 3.5.

cant help with a translation, these are not as clear as uss auctions auction sheets.

did they grade the interior,

they are usually graded a,b,c or d

yeah, not what i want to hear, but i kind of think so too. i dont have a grade for the interior. but hey... its mine now.... i should be happy. do you think the kms are bodge? i'll probably spend a few thousand restoring it anyway. if you know of any good places to get parts... esp interior, could you please pass on the details? in brisbane gold coast would be good. thanks!
