Window Tint On Front Windscreen

i kno its highly illegal to have tint on the front windscreen, but some cars come with tinted glass already, i was wondering if anyone knows the % that is used?

i think its like high 60s or around there, i read it somewhere i jus cant track where from.

No tint allowed only a tinted band on the top.

unless the car came from the factory with tint or it was an option from factory... to my understanding anyway.

illegal from what i know. but id say it only be like 80% or something... coz even 60% at night.... not cool

Yeh its illegal remenbered I asked the guy who did the tint on my car he said only the small section on the top part of the windscreen is allowed. Never seen any car that cames with tint on windscreen as factory option before.

normally the front windscreen looks tinted cause the others are tinted. This causes less light in the car and gives the effect of the front being tinted.

yeh, are u talking about the pinkish tint colour ? it definately has some sort of overlay.

I was under the impression that all windscreen glass has a very mild tint.

Not on the glass (as per traditional "tinting") but in the glass, as part of its composition?

..thus causing a green/blue tinge when they smash, unlike regular glass which goes white when shattered.

The new Renaults have an anti glare coating, it is not tinted.

Even my mate who tints windscreens said he would never tint one as they would be spotted a mile away by cops.

reading up on it...

ONLY cars that have the windscreens tinted in the manufacturing process are allowed and MUST allow at least 75% of light through.
