Just about to fit a clutch, etc .. Have finally got all the components.. Just wondering what grease I should use to lubricate the shaft and the thrust bearing?

I was thinking regular high temp bearing grease do the trick, but should I use a graphite? or even lithium based grease?

Nissan in the service manual specifies "Nissan clutch grease" - is there equivelent specific stuff around, or are Nissan being anal with telling people to use their own stuff?

Obviously not too much on I would imagine as to not splatter the clutch?

I use graphite/lithium on the thrust bearing carrier and a tiny little bit of high temp bearing on the end of the spigot (so that it isn't leaving goop on everything when installed) with a little bit more in the end of the crank on the bush.

lithium/graphite will overheat if used on the spigot.
