hey im deciding to buy a skyline gtst r33...any1 know where i can find one thats in perth???? but if im planning to get it in melb...how much would it cost to import from melb to perth????

I have just come back from Melb. They are a lot more expensive over there than here. The cost difference in transportation from Queensland where they are cheaper negates any saving you may get.

Don't quote me on this, but I think a friend paid $200 to put a car on a train from Perth to Sydney. About a year ago.

my mate bought a VN group A in Melbourne last year.... put it on a TNT truck and brought it over. It cost him with insurance $800.

Do you want the car to be 'done up' to go quicker or 'done up' to look quick.

Looks are easy. Just buy the one you think looks the best.

If you want the car to go quicker, it is possible the car can be 'done up' the wrong way and you will spend the greater part of your income fixing it back up.

Here are a few tips:

As a part of the mechanical inspection, test the compression both hot and cold. Ask when the last time diff/gearbox and engine oils were changed etc and the regularity.

If the owner claims to have a car that does the 1/4 in any particular time ask to see the time slip. If the owner claims any particular power output ask to see the dyno printout and then totally disregard it.

Check the underside for any evidence of accident damage (Dents in the chassis rail etc. particluar attention to the front and rear).

The most important tip is to test drive as many skylines as possible including dead stock ones so you get a 'feel' for the car and the way it ought to behave.

I agree with Memphis. I also got mine from Paul at Autoworx 6 months ago.

Paul is a top bloke and knows these cars well. He's got quite a few in at the moment and he's even got a GTR (drool).

He seems to get some really nice cars.

Highly recommended.

theres a series 2 gtst with ohlins coilovers,cusco front/rear strut,fujitsubo exhaust,and unisia jecs pod filter. done 64000 ks.but will only be complied in 2/3 weeks. thats the only reason i didnt take it. asking for 26,000. and its at extreme machines
