Sneaking Past The "turbo" Law

To all those new p platers being shutdown by not driving a turbo...

I've found a solution whom gone through the police and rta.

I'm 16 going into 17 in september and like most of you, I love the woosh noise and need a turbo, i assure you it's not an excuse to look cool and race people..

I've found a solution that allows me to drive a turbo'd car without flaws..

My 21 year old brother whom owns a skyline lives in canberra, has a house and goes to school there..

I've put my name under living in canberra with my brother and travelling to sydney to goto school..

In the ACT your aloud to drive a turbo'd car so I'm going for my p's test over there, when i pass i'll have a act license and be able to drive my skyline.. Ofcourse i'll have to travel to canberra every weekend.. but why wouldn't you sacrafice 3 hours to own your skyline.. It's been passed by the police and rta so if any of you have any relatives that live in another state.. just register your name and do your test there.. also theres a bonus because ACT don't have green p's.. straight to your license..

Any questions i'll be happy to answer.

Good Luck guys.

Maybe we see things differently but I wouldn't sacrifice all that time and effort for a Skyline. For a Ferrari, yes! but a sub $15k car.... no.

Driving between Sydney and Canberra is a boring drive and you'll probably give it up after a few trips.

why not pshhhhhhh LOL ;) at 1st you will enjoy driving 3hours, but in the end you will hate it, especially not for a skyline. Just get a non turbo, who cares about the wooosh sound, itgives you a defect anyway, and unless you really wanna modify your car a BOV will just make it stall. IS it really worth driving to canberra everyweekend for the Woosh sound, i bet if you ask most people here they will say they have gotten sick of the sound.

:D

oh and BTW I bought that Sunami Turbo Noise generator and hooked it up to a set of amplified 6X9s for the f**k of it (much louder then the speakers it comes with)... ugliest noise out... nothing like a turbo air winding noise

Bastard... I'm jealous of the fact that if you do this, you get a r32gts-t or what ever.. But, i'm not even remotely jealous about the fact that you will spend 3 hours every weekend driving to Canberra. Although I don't see why you would even bother doing the weekend crap.. unless you need to sign in or something?

Unfortunately not all of us have family or relatives in other states..

And.. furthermore.. I wonder how many people actually got skylines ( turbos ) when they were 17..

I'd imagine the majority got them around 19-20ish when they had some money etc..

So in the scheme of things, we're not really disadvantaged because we'll be off our greens when we're 20 or so.

And the sound of a turbo spooling up is waaaay better than vrmmmmmshhhhh

Well you can't blame me for trying.. but yes 3 hours is devistating and boring.. but its not just to drive a skyline, i see my brother, i have fun with him. to me it's not just about skyline and whoosh.. it's a bonus.. plus i don't have to go, but i choose to.. this solution will work for most of you. also there is nothing wrong with owning a skyline at this age? br3tt saved up and bought it for himself?

Im still on my green and I can drive a turbo lolz..

Might renew it when it this week.. Im lazy to do the test lolz

For Victor(aka doodz):Hehehe.. You still havent gotten your fulls since I last talk to you! Why re-new when you can go for your fulls? Trust me its easy.. I got mine like 2 weeks ago.. well I suggest you get them.. just get them over and done with.. your feel good about it! hehehe..

For Xinhua: whats wrong with a non-turbo? i think most people probably started off with one.. you should do what makes ya happy.. but if I was in your situation I probably wouldnt.. its alot of trouble for me but for you i guess its ok.. hope all goes out to plan.. luck luck..

even when I had a turbo 'line I enjoyed using my N/A R32 daily driver... simply because the cops would pull you over thinking they were gonna be able to canary you, only to not be able to find anything. Plus to all the regular shmucks out there they didn't know the difference between the turbo and the NA other than the pssshhht noise.

At the end of the day, its your call on what you do, if you wanna go to that effort just to own a turbo car, then good luck to you.

I was lined up next to a N/A version of my car on Monday night... trust me, they look exactly the same  I just couldn't believe how it looked so similiar, OMG!

3 hours each way = 6 hours per weekend, just to own a Skyline? Man, that's like $150 in fuel just to get you to and from Canberra and Sydney? You must be really rich, really bored or just really stupid :)

But whatever rocks your sox mate... good luck!

same here

theres so many non turbo R34s running around its unbelievable...

lined up with a red one at the lights (had exhaust and canon) and I knew it was a N/A because it had a blue side GT badge =) he was revving it up trying to be a champion so I blew his doors off lol

Didn't you know Alien is our resident hoon?

What I meant to say (I don't think you guys got the sarcasm) is that a N/A Skyline and a Turbo Skyline looks no different... and if you are a law abiding driver, GOES no different either!

Save your time, save your money and just be happy with a N/A Skyline for now... learn to drive the car then think about upgrading later on.
