IMO go for a SII R33, mearly for the fact that they come with dual air bags. My first few cars I had were kind of shitters, and small cars, things like astina's etc, and one thing I realised when I boought the skyline is that the last thing I ever wanted to do was kill my girlfriend/friend in the car. I don't drive stupidly or anything, but if anything ever happened (even if it wasn't my fault) I'd feel personally responsible, and I'm not sure if I could deal with it.

Having said all that, I didn't end up buying a SII, but I found a SI with A-Lsd and dual air bags as an option (not to mention a fair few extra options from the factory).

R33's have deceptive speed compared to say an R32.

what do you mean? they dont feel as fast as a 32 even tho they are?

Yeah exactly that, because R33's are much more linear in their power delivery they don't feel 'as fast' in relation to an R32.

Basically its the difference in feeling when an R32 hits boost, it just 'feels' faster because the difference between off boost and on boost are so different compared to an R33. So you can find yourself going *ahem* 140-160 in an R33 quite easily while you still thought you were going say around 100, when getting up to speed.

They're deceptive as to the rate at which they put on speed.

Man that post was needlessly long...

is it because acceleration is greater? or its just feel like that? normaly a punchier feeling is because of greater acceleration.

RB20 has more lag. Its a all or nothing type delivery. In a 32GTS-T you do notice off boost that a 2L engine is trying to move what is a heavy car for it. (until you hit boost that is!)

If you don't mind the R32 and love frying tyres...

Get one, drop an R33 RB25 and gearbox in it. Buy a Garrett GT35R, power FC and other supporting mods. Have about 380hp at the rear treads, have a shitload of torque and run low 12's. Then with the leftover money buy some nice rims, paint and possibly a kit. That should send you back about close to $20k. Not something you can buy upfront but certainly a car you will love to have :P

Thats how I would spend 20k anyway..
