Just wondering. i was thinking of giving my car a nice glossy black/metallic if i could, just wondering how much will that cost roughly, but also i was wondering if it would be better if i get the body kit put on first before the respray.

having the body kit on already saves colour matching for the re-spray.

not to mention its cheaper because you dont need the whole car painted, then additional body parts.

best way to get a accurate price for a respray is to ring around. :)

saves being told it cost $x when really it is $y.

Like the saying goes "you get what you pay for", so yeah a good job will cost around 2 to 4k. Plus its a good idea to get the kit put on as well and get it spray at the same time to save money.

depends on your body kit, if they are fibreglass, they cannot go into the oven, gotta wait till paint to dry slowly..abt 1 week, hoping sunny weather.....

it'll be quite fast for the rest of the car, if they are oven baked...well done...yummy...

I want pie!!

if you want a real qual job there is a place in malaga that uses house of kolor paint. some of the things he has had come out of there are nice...

his name is ryan... cant remember the name of the shop tho sorry.

(but it wont be ya cheap 11-2k job i would think, plus metalics cost more and yeah as gazza said its gotta be rubbed back etc if you want it to look good)

dont bother with flake paint, i have it on my car and its more trouble than its worth.

it also costs a fortune cos our car has the base colour (black) then 3 layers of flake with 9 layers of clear.

its extremely time consuming to look after and its hard to colour match if ur car gets damaged. ours is causing a lot of hassles as we have to get our boot replaced and repainted and we dont have the mix details....

lol go the metalic but make sure if ya get anything custom you get the mixes written down somewhere you can find and that way you wont have the same issues as rhianne i guess...

either way its gonna cost ya a nice pocket or two so just make sure what ya pic is what ya want lol

Our GTR was finished yesterday.Major panal and paint detail inc room for more rubber.

$2500 was cheap, if it was performance work done it would have been well over $5000, These guys are good tradesmen and should make as much as Mechanics.

    • I got the full frenchys kit too. Really awesome kit. Easy to install my only complaint was the hardlines I think could be routed differently (I modified mine) but I realise the kit needs to suit multiple applications. This was the hard lines before I modified them. They were touching the wastegate pipe. I ended up reducing the distance between firewall and first bend. The made it so they tucked along the frame rail.
    • Deeve, I don't suppose that you've made any progress on this? My Stagea has the exact same problem, and just like you, I've read through as much as I can online, with no real progress. My car isn't throwing any codes at all, which is a little frustrating. I've changed plugs, checked the wiring and harness. A new MAF gets here next week, but I'm not hopeful it will solve the issue.
    • I installed it all myself,  It was really easy to install.  I got a professional to do the degas/gas.
    • Finally had some time after working on other projects to jump back on this thing. Pulled all 4 wheels to check the brakes over and lucked out, only needed to bleed them/change fluid to get everything working!    Took it for its first quick spin (around 2km) up the road and ran great! Sounds like I have a left rear wheel bearing that needs replacing and there’s a shake in the steering wheel but the tires are absolutely junk on this thing and had been sitting flat when I went to first look at the car so we’ll see if that’s the cause.   Tach randomly started working but I notice if my hicas light comes on the tach stops working 🙃 yay for electrical gremlins
    • Bunnings car park it is! if you buy the kind of dampers with the adjustable top on the strut you can see it, red, purple? So many options.
