Just wondering. i was thinking of giving my car a nice glossy black/metallic if i could, just wondering how much will that cost roughly, but also i was wondering if it would be better if i get the body kit put on first before the respray.

having the body kit on already saves colour matching for the re-spray.

not to mention its cheaper because you dont need the whole car painted, then additional body parts.

best way to get a accurate price for a respray is to ring around. :)

saves being told it cost $x when really it is $y.

depends on your body kit, if they are fibreglass, they cannot go into the oven, gotta wait till paint to dry slowly..abt 1 week, hoping sunny weather.....

it'll be quite fast for the rest of the car, if they are oven baked...well done...yummy...

I want pie!!

dont bother with flake paint, i have it on my car and its more trouble than its worth.

it also costs a fortune cos our car has the base colour (black) then 3 layers of flake with 9 layers of clear.

its extremely time consuming to look after and its hard to colour match if ur car gets damaged. ours is causing a lot of hassles as we have to get our boot replaced and repainted and we dont have the mix details....

    • How old is the battery, it's more likely your battery is on its way out.
    • I reckon you'd get 90% off. My washer doesn't get between spokes very well. Haha! I love my Gerni!  Argh! Steam cleaning has its place for sure.
    • Hey all, I did a voltage test with the car (video attached) not running for 3 days. And here is some interesting stuff: - Battery voltage is 12v (I had the key in the ON position) - Drops to 9.76v while cranking then quickly goes up to 14.5v - You will notice there was a sorta slow start but not as slow as it usually is. - Idle surprisingly was better at just over 1,000rpm instead of 1,100 rpm. - I turned on the A/C, radio and headlights in the video and the voltage remains the same - I haven't cleaned the grounding wires on the chassis yet, that's next. - Battery drops to 12.6v when I turn off the car and wait a bit Seems like I might have a parasitic draw? I do have an immobiliser system which does drain the battery more of course but was wondering if there is anything else I should be looking at fixing? Does the ground wires on the chassis have anything to do with the low 12v?        SAU.avi
    • My lord that is some low oil pressure as minimum in the manual! I guess the big part will be seeing how it changes as the engine gets more spirited use.
    • Turbotapin   so I am about to be mounting mine up been waiting for the body to get finish at paint. I had a question. I was told our Speedo sensor it originally in the transmission but the cd009 is in the diff on the z. How did you get around this?
